Hal inilah yang melatarbelakangi Guru Besar (Gubes) ke-167 Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Prof Dr Tri Arief Sardjono ST MT untuk mengkaji penggunaan <em>Spring Charged Particles Model<\/em> (SCPM) dalam segmentasi citra dan pemulihan bentuk.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Tri menjelaskan bahwa metode SCPM ini termasuk ke dalam <em>deformable model<\/em>. Model ini memiliki kemampuan mengikuti kontur suatu objek yang diinginkan, menentukan batas <em>region of interest<\/em> (ROI), serta meningkatkan pemulihan bentuk. Ditambah dengan tingkat fleksibilitas yang baik tanpa perlu komputasi yang tinggi. Namun, SCPM ini akan kesulitan jika diterapkan pada gambar yang berkualitas rendah dan berantakan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Guna mengatasi kekurangan ini, alumnus S1 Teknik Elektro ITS ini menyebutkan bahwa SCPM mengombinasikan partikel bermuatan positif dengan pegas. Selain itu, metode ini juga telah diujikan pada kurva terbuka dan tertutup dengan hasil yang baik. Bahkan pada pengujian kurva tertutup, kemampuan SCPM menunjukkan hasil bahwa SCPM lebih unggul dibandingkan dengan <em>Charge Fluid Model<\/em> dan <em>Active Contour<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dengan kesempurnaan uji cobanya, pria kelahiran Surabaya ini menerangkan metode ini telah diterapkan pada bidang kedokteran, yaitu mendeteksi kelengkungan tulang belakang. Pada pengujian tersebut tampak partikel bermuatan positif bergerak mengikuti bentuk citra tulang belakang penderita skoliosis yang digunakan. Namun, juga dapat melakukan segmentasi dan pemulihan pada berbagai organ lainnya. \u201cSCPM juga <em>support<\/em> berbagai jenis citra, baik yang menggunakan <em>CT<\/em>&#8211;<em>Scan<\/em>, <em>X-Ray<\/em>, <em>Ultrasound<\/em>, dan lain-lain,\u201d tambahnya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Melalui metode ini, diagnosis medis yang dilakukan akan menjadi lebih cepat dan akurat. Segmentasi yang ditunjukkan oleh SCPM ini akan membantu pihak medis untuk menentukan titik fokus analisisnya.
