ITS Campus, ITS News<\/strong> \u2013 As a World Class University, the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> has collaborated with various countries in the world, one of which is the People’s Republic of China (PRC). In order to strengthen this collaboration, a delegation from the PRC Embassy (Embassy) in Indonesia visited ITS to further explore the expansion of collaboration in the science, technology and innovation (iptekin) sector, Thursday (8\/6).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng IPU AEng in his remarks expressed ITS’ commitment to the development of science and technology through the construction of a Science Techno Park (STP)<\/a>. The ITS STP aims to become a center for innovation and collaboration that is able to connect academics, researchers, and industry. “That way it will encourage the development of innovative technology and have a positive impact,” he said optimistically.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the chancellor, who is often called Ashari, sees that China has a wealth of research that focuses a lot on science and technology. This provides a great opportunity for ITS to expand cooperation and mutually utilize the expertise and research that has been carried out by both parties. “This collaboration in the field of research and innovation is expected to provide significant benefits for technological progress and sustainable development,” said the professor of Electrical Engineering.<\/p>\n

This collaboration with the PRC is not the first time, because ITS itself already has memorandums of understanding with various universities in the PRC in terms of joint research and student and lecturer mobility. In addition, ITS is also part of several consortia involving the PRC such as ACNET-EngTech, Smart Ocean, and the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC). “We have also collaborated with two major PRC industries, namely Huawei and ZTE,” added Ashari.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, ITS will hold several programs involving the PRC this year. The Commtech Nusantara program last January succeeded in involving 11 students from the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT)<\/a> and Dalian University of Technology (DUT)<\/a>. In addition, the Project-Based Learning program with KONE and BRAUIC will run from June to August. Even in November, ITS will also host the BRAUIC Presidential Forum.<\/p>\n

Through the discussion forums that have been taking place, the exploration of expanding cooperation this time aims to strengthen the transfer of technology from universities, research centers and industry in the PRC to the ITS Laboratory. In addition, joint research collaborations and innovation projects between universities, research centers and industry in China with ITS and EPI-Unet (Eastern Part of Indonesia University Network) are also the focus of collaboration.<\/p>\n

Yifanping, Counselor for Cultural Affairs of the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, who was also present at the discussion forum, welcomed the efforts to expand this collaboration and hoped that it would be followed up soon. He also mentioned that the PRC Embassy was ready to support and facilitate the sending of ITS students, lecturers and staff to universities, research centers and industries in China.<\/p>\n

With the increasingly close cooperation between ITS and PRC, Ashari hopes that collaboration in the field of science and technology will increase. “Hopefully this is expected to provide great benefits for both parties (ITS and PRC) and contribute to the advancement of technology and innovation in Indonesia,” concluded Ashari hoping.
