Hal tersebut dilangsungkan melalui kuliah umum yang diselenggarakan pada Jumat (24\/02).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kegiatan yang dihelat di Ruang Sidang lantai satu Gedung Rektorat ITS tersebut menghadirkan<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Senior Vice President Production <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ExxonMobil Indonesia, Muhammad Nurdin, dan dosen dari Departemen Teknik Sistem Perkapalan ITS, Prof Dr Ketut Buda Artana ST MSc. Pada kegiatan tersebut, keduanya mengulas terkait industri migas dari dua perspektif yang berbeda.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nurdin menyampaikan perihal tantangan industri migas yang dimiliki Indonesia lewat perspektifnya. Ia berkata, salah satu permasalahan dalam migas berhubungan dengan emisi dan ExxonMobil mengambil langkah tegas untuk menekan angka emisi dengan menerapkan metode <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Carbon Capture and Storage <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(CCS), pemanfaatan hidrogen, dan memproduksi biofuel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Alumnus Universitas Gadjah Mada tersebut menerangkan, untuk mengurangi emisi yang didominasi oleh karbon dioksida, mereka menggunakan metode CCS. Begitu juga dengan biofuel, ia juga menekankan pemanfaatan bahan-bahan yang berasal dari tumbuhan dan hewan agar bisa menghasilkan bahan bakar yang bersih dari emisi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menyambung pembahasan terkait migas, Ketut menjelaskan bahwa di balik melimpahnya kekayaan alam yang ada di Indonesia, nyatanya cadangan energi di Indonesia, tidak akan mampu mencukupi seluruh kebutuhan di masa mendatang. \u201cIndonesia harus segera mengantisipasi cadangan energi, terutama minyak bumi,\u201d ungkap Ketut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, Ketut menjelaskan, transisi energi harus segera digencarkan. Salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan potensi gas alam yang dimiliki oleh Indonesia, yaitu LNG (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">liquid natural gas) <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">atau gas alam cair. \u201cLNG memiliki banyak manfaat, di antaranya lebih ramah lingkungan, efisiensi dan efektivitasnya lebih tinggi, dan lebih rendah emisi,\u201d imbuhnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lebih lanjut, dosen yang mengampu mata kuliah Teknologi LNG tersebut juga membeberkan bahwa penggunaan LNG sudah marak digunakan di negara-negara lain, tetapi di Indonesia belum digalakkan. Tidak dapat dimungkiri, tidak semua wilayah Indonesia dapat terhubung melalui pipa sehingga peran teknologi kelautan sangat dibutuhkan. Oleh karena itu, Ketut menilai, kolaborasi dan inovasi harus dilahirkan agar biaya pengeluaran dapat ditekan dan distribusi dapat lebih merata.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Terlepas dari banyaknya tantangan yang harus dihadapi Indonesia, baik Nurdin maupun Ketut menganggap bahwa pembaharuan bagi dunia energi di Indonesia merupakan sebuah keharusan. Keduanya sepakat bahwa energi tidak hanya dinilai dari efisiensinya saja.
