Pengembangan ini memanfaatkan titanium dioksida dan sinar UV yang berfungsi menciptakan reaksi fotokatalitik untuk degradasi limbah pewarna.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Desa Parengan, Kecamatan Maduran, Kabupaten Lamongan dikenal sebagai desa industri sentra kain tenun ikat yang memiliki nilai seni dan ekspor yang tinggi. Namun, kegiatan tersebut menyebabkan pencemaran pada Sungai Bengawan Solo dari limbah pewarnanya. Karenanya, Abmas ini telah menginisiasi reaktor dekolorisasi ini\u00a0 sejak tahun 2021 bersama tim Abmas ITS sebelumnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ketua Abmas, Adi Setyo Purnomo MSc PhD menjelaskan, reaktor dekolorisasi ini sebelumnya telah menggunakan tiga adsorben yakni batuan silika, batuan mangan, dan arang aktif untuk menyerap polutan yang tinggi serta mampu menjernihkan air limbah. Namun, setelah melalui evaluasi selama setahun, tim Abmas ingin mengoptimalkannya melalui penambahan zat TiO2\u00a0 (titanium dioksida) dan lampu UV ke dalam tangki pembersihan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lebih lanjut, Adi menjelaskan alasan penambahan zat ini karena konsentrasi limbah pewarna di Desa Parengan sangat tinggi sehingga membutuhkan bantuan oksidator. Oksidator ini akan membuat pewarna mengendap dan terserap ke dalam pori-pori arang aktif yang memiliki kapasitas adsorpsi di atas 900 mg\/g. Karenanya, titanium dioksida, dan sinar UV ditambahkan untuk mengoptimalkan reaksi fotokatalitik dalam degradasi limbah pewarna. \u201cAdapun zeolit dan klorin yang sudah digunakan sebelumnya juga tetap dipertahankan,\u201d terangnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_76274\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-76274\" style=\"width: 4032px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-76274\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/fotokaltalisis-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"4032\" height=\"3024\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-76274\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Adi Setyo Purnomo MSc PhD (ketiga dari kiri bawah) saat berfoto bersama tim dan mitra di depan tangki reaktor dekolorisasi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sebelum masuk ke dalam tangki pembersihan, limbah pewarna tenun ikat dikumpulkan terlebih dahulu ke dalam sebuah tangki. Setelah itu, limbah tersebut dipompa menuju tangki yang sudah berisi zeolit, klorin, titanium dioksida, dan lampu UV. Setelah didiamkan selama tiga hari di dalam tangki ini, barulah limbah kemudian dialirkan menuju tiga pipa yang masing-masing berisi tiga zat berbeda, yaitu manganese greensand, silika, dan karbon aktif.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Meskipun dapat membersihkan limbah pewarna menjadi lebih ramah lingkungan, Adi mengakui bahwa reaktor dekolorisasi ini membutuhkan energi listrik yang tidak kecil. Hal ini tentu menjadi masalah bagi warga Desa Parengan, Kecamatan Maduran, Kabupaten Lamongan, tempat Abmas ini dilaksanakan. \u201cUntuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, tim Abmas memutuskan untuk memasang instalasi panel surya untuk reaktor dekolorisasi,\u201d ujarnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Terakhir, Adi berharap agar para perajin yang berada di sekitar lokasi reaktor dekolorisasi ini dapat memanfaatkannya dengan baik.
