Kali ini, salah satu tim Abmas ITS menunjukkan pengabdiannya dengan memberikan pelatihan pemeliharaan dan perawatan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) kepada pengelola air limbah domestik yang berlokasi di Tuban, Jawa Timur.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ketua Tim Abmas ITS Ipung Fitri Purwanti ST MT PhD mengungkapkan, meskipun IPAL sudah masif digunakan, tetapi pengoperasiannya belum banyak yang sesuai dengan prosedur. \u201cMaka dari itu, kami hadir untuk membantu masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kualitas lingkungannya sehingga pencemaran air pun bisa diatasi,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ipung menjelaskan, wilayah Tuban sudah banyak menggunakan IPAL komunal, yaitu sarana pengolahan limbah cair yang dapat digunakan secara bersama. Menurut keterangannya, satu IPAL bisa disalurkan oleh 5 hingga 50 rumah. \u201cSelama satu hari, pengelola IPAL dilatih untuk mengoperasikan dan memelihara Sistem Pengolahan Air Limbah Domestik (SPALD) yang sesuai dengan standar prosedur,\u201d paparnya.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_74016\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74016\" style=\"width: 1156px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-74016\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/Tim-Abmas-ITS-bersama-peserta-pelatihan-saat-pelatihan-IPAL-di-Tuban-Jawa-Timur.jpeg\" alt=\"Tim Abmas ITS bersama peserta pelatihan saat pelatihan IPAL di Tuban, Jawa Timur\" width=\"1156\" height=\"673\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-74016\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tim Abmas ITS bersama peserta pelatihan saat pelatihan IPAL di Tuban, Jawa Timur<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Lebih lanjut, dosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/id\/kuliah-di-its\/fakultas-dan-departemen\/fakultas-teknik-sipil-perencanaan-dan-kebumian\/teknik-lingkungan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Departemen Teknik Lingkungan ITS<\/a> ini menuturkan bahwa saluran IPAL di tempat tersebut jarang dibersihkan, sehingga berisiko terjadinya penyumbatan pada pipa IPAL. Tidak hanya itu, saluran IPAL yang tidak dibersihkan juga mengakibatkan terganggunya sistem pengolahan air serta kelebihan beban karena banyak sampah dan lumpur dari pemukiman warga.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Contohnya, siklus pengolahan IPAL secara anaerobik harus dibersihkan setidaknya dua hingga tiga tahun sekali. Hal itu disebabkan oleh proses anaerobik menghasilkan banyak lumpur. Jika tidak dibersihkan, lumpur akan mengendap secara terus-menerus sehingga lumpur tergerus ke dalam pipa dan menyebabkan penyumbatan. \u201cProsedur pemeliharaannya sederhana, tetapi berakibat fatal jika tidak dibersihkan secara berkala,\u201d tandasnya.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_74017\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74017\" style=\"width: 1209px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-74017\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/10\/Tim-Abmas-ITS-dari-Departemen-Teknik-Lingkungan-ITS-saat-pelatihan-Instalasi-Pengolahan-Air-Limbah-IPAL-di-Tuban.jpeg\" alt=\"Tim Abmas ITS dari Departemen Teknik Lingkungan ITS saat pelatihan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) di Tuban\" width=\"1209\" height=\"707\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-74017\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tim Abmas ITS dari Departemen Teknik Lingkungan ITS saat pelatihan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) di Tuban<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Pelatihan yang berlangsung pada 6 Oktober lalu ini merupakan undangan dari Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dan Penataan Ruang, Perumahan Rakyat, dan Kawasan Permukiman (PUPR PRKP) <a href=\"https:\/\/tubankab.go.id\/\">Kabupaten Tuban<\/a>.
