ITS Campus News<\/strong> – After successfully running High School Double Track Program with The East Java Provincial Office of Education, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS)<\/a> was trusted by The East Kalimantan Provincial Office of Education and Culture to run High School Dual Track Program. The collaboration was inaugurated by signing Collaboration Agreement at ITS Rectorate Building, Tuesday (6\/9).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Head of East Kalimantan Provincial Office of Education and Culture, Muhammad Kurniawan, S.E.Ak., M.M., in his opening remarks said that The East Kalimantan Provincial Office of Education and Culture adopted Double Track Program, which was previously successful applied in East Java. His party initiated Dual Track Program to empower the quality of human resources for high school students, especially those who do not have the opportunity to go to college.<\/p>\n

This program is also an effort by The East Kalimantan Provincial Office of Education and Culture to increase the rate of economic growth. If high school graduates are equipped with skills and expertise, they will be more ready to be accepted in the business world, industry, and entrepreneurship after graduation. “For those who still continue on their studies, it can be a provision for them to be able to compete with other students,” he said.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, as the second largest province in Indonesia and the new location of National Capital City. This program basically supports the indigenous people of East Kalimantan to participate in the development of National Capital City in the future. The people of East Kalimantan are expected to not only be the host, but also be the spectators. “Therefore, we propose to make collaboration with ITS,” he continued.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, The Vice Rector IV of ITS, Bambang Pramujati, S.T., M.Sc.Eng., Ph.D., said that this collaboration aligned with ITS goals. As the best university in Indonesia, ITS does not only focus on its students, but also has the responsibility to advance general society. One of the ways is by approaching high school students who do not have the opportunity to go to college.<\/p>\n

Bambang said ITS would fully support Dual Track Program which will be implemented in East Kalimantan Province. His team will prepare many experts from various backgrounds who are competent in their fields to participate in this program. At the end, this Mechanical Engineering Department lecturer extend his gratitude to The East Kalimantan Provincial Office of Education and Culture for having collaboration with ITS. “Thank you for trusting ITS to develop the quality of human resources in East Kalimantan,” he concluded.
