ITS Campus, ITS News \u2013 <\/span><\/b>Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember<\/span>\u00a0(ITS) is back in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) RI to develop the economy of the Papuan people. After the ship’s gift, this time also the procurement of 34 E-Trails (electric trail bikes) and training to make them for Papuan youths.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Located at ITS Research Center (RC) Building, there was also a handover of aid funds from the Ministry of Social Affairs for ITS to realize the E-Trail assistance Saturday (9\/7). Furthermore, the transfer of funds for shipbuilding was also carried out on Sunday (10\/7).<\/span><\/p>\n

With directions from the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr (HC) Ir Tri Rismaharini MT, Vice-Rector IV for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and ITS Alumni, Bambang Pramujati ST MSc Eng Ph.D. revealed, this collaboration is an alternative solution to the difficulty of obtaining fuel oil (BBM) in improving the economy of the Papuan people.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also explained that when the 34 E-Trails have been assembled, they will be divided equally among the people in Puncak Jaya and Yahukimo. Bambang said the training would be held on the ITS campus for ten days, starting Tuesday (12\/7). “This training expects to have a transfer of knowledge effect on Papuan youths,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Go more profound, and graduate with a doctorate at the University of New Brunswick. This explains that ITS will invite 16 youths from Papua in training. These youths will also be divided from various regions in Papua. In detail, they consist of 6 youths from Puncak Jaya, five from Yahukimo, and five from Cendrawasih University (Uncen).<\/span><\/p>\n

With the arrival of the 16 Papuan youths in this training, it is targeted that they will be able to assist in assembling, maintaining, and using these electric motors in the future. It is hoped that these youths will be competent in modifying electric motors according to the terrain in their respective areas. “So with this collaboration, we are targeting physical gifts and a sense of belonging for being involved in this training,” said Bambang.<\/span><\/p>\n

ITS and the Ministry of Social Affairs will also hold a Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) program to support this electric motor energy. So far, Bambang explained that there is a plan to procure solar panels for every SPKLU as a second fuel if electricity is not achieved in the area. Even so, Bambang added that the estimated number of SPKLUs to be built would still be studied further in the future with the Ministry of Social Affairs.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the fund-handing event, representatives from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Director of Remote Indigenous Communities and Social Entrepreneurship Juena Br Sitepu SSos MSi were also present who expressed gratitude to ITS for always helping the Ministry of Social programs. Juena also hopes that the commitment of ITS and the Ministry of Social Affairs to the welfare of the community will increase. “This collaboration is only a few steps from the many steps that will take to improve the welfare of the Indonesian people,” he concluded.
