Selangkah maju, tim riset Laboratorium Lingkungan dan Energi Laut <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tkelautan\/\">Departemen Teknik Kelautan ITS<\/a> coba menggali potensi tersebut lewat penelitian energi arus laut di Desa Watukarung, Pacitan.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Koordinator tim riset, Sri Lestari ST menjelaskan bahwa penelitiannya ini bermula dari tantangan global pada poin ketujuh <a href=\"https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/goals\">Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/a>, yakni setiap orang berhak mendapatkan akses terhadap energi bersih. Lestari menyebutkan, energi arus laut merupakan salah satu contoh sumber EBT yang baik jika mampu diolah dengan benar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lestari melihat Pacitan sebagai lokasi yang ideal untuk riset lebih dalam. Menurutnya, perairan Pacitan menyimpan potensi energi arus yang besar, terlebih kondisinya yang berada langsung di area Samudera Hindia. \u201cOleh karenanya, menurut hipotesis saya, kondisi arus pasca gelombang pecah di lokasi sesuai dengan kebutuhan kami,\u201d tuturnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lebih lanjut, usut punya usut, Lestari menemukan bahwa masih ada dusun di wilayah Pacitan yang masih belum teraliri listrik dari PLN. \u201cDua pertimbangan tersebut menjadi alasan utama kami dalam memilih lokasi pengujian,\u201d ujar mahasiswi program magister ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_70389\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-70389\" style=\"width: 6000px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-70389\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/IMG_3015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"6000\" height=\"4000\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-70389\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tim penelitian Laboratorium Lingkungan dan Energi Laut ITS di lokasi pengukuran arus pasca gelombang pecah, Pacitan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dalam risetnya, Lestari dan tim melakukan pengambilan data kondisi arus laut pasca terjadinya gelombang laut pecah. Untuk mengambil data, ia menggunakan dua alat yakni, Current Meter dan Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Secara sederhana, mereka memasang ADCP di dasar laut dengan kedalaman kurang dari 30 meter untuk menghitung kondisi sebelum gelombang laut pecah. Di saat bersamaan, Lestari dan tim mengoperasikan alat Current Meter di area pantai guna mendata kondisi pasca pecahnya gelombang laut.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Setelah mendapatkan data dalam rentang waktu 24 jam, Lestari bersama timnya akan mengolah data tersebut lebih lanjut. Jika proses pengolahan data selesai dan teruji, riset laboratorium tersebut dapat berkembang ke fase-fase selanjutnya, termasuk perancangan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">wave energy converter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(WEC). \u201cTidak menutup kemungkinan, di kemudian hari, WEC ini dapat terealisasi dan mampu menyalurkan energi ke lokasi yang membutuhkan,\u201d pungkasnya mengakhiri.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Berlanjut ke Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat<\/b><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_70021\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-70021\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-70021 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-06-27-at-22.18.52.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-70021\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tim riset Laboratorium Lingkungan dan Energi Laut ITS bersama Kepala Desa Watukarung, Wiwid Pheni Dwiantari (kerudung biru) dan nelayan Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUB) Sidorukun 1 Watukarung<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tidak hanya melakukan riset, Laboratorium Lingkungan dan Energi Laut pimpinan Prof Ir Mukhtasor MEng PhD ini juga menggelar program pengabdian kepada masyarakat (abmas), Ahad (26\/6). Dalam rangkaiannya, dosen anggota lab, Dr Ir Dendy Satrio SST mengenalkan Departemen Teknik Kelautan pada siswa tingkat SMA. \u201cKami ingin menarik minat pelajar setempat agar tertarik mendalami keilmuan berbasis teknologi maritim di Teknik Kelautan ITS,\u201d papar dosen ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tidak sebatas itu, teknisi laboratorium Teknik Kelautan, Dwi Poernomo Hendradata ST MT turut membagikan wawasan seputar alat-alat yang kerap digunakan mahasiswa untuk praktik lapangan.
