Berangkat dari persoalan ini, tim mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Kimia <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> menggagas penggunaan gabungan membran yang mampu mengurangi konduktivitas (daya hantar) listrik pada air limbah hingga 99,7 persen.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dwi Mayasari, Ketua tim menuturkan, saat ini kebanyakan industri pulp dan kertas di Indonesia hanya menggunakan membran reverse osmosis (RO) dalam proses penyaringan air hasil produksi. \u201cAir yang dihasilkan oleh membran RO ini konduktivitas listriknya tinggi, sehingga menjadi limbah dan tidak bisa dipakai lagi,\u201d ungkap mahasiswi yang akrab disapa Maya tersebut.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Karena itulah, berdasarkan studi pustaka yang dilakukan Maya dan tim akhirnya menggagas penggunaan membran tambahan yaitu electrodialysis (ED). ED sendiri merupakan membran yang digunakan untuk membawa ion di bawah pengaruh potensial listrik.
