{"id":6847,"date":"2008-08-16T10:04:11","date_gmt":"2008-08-16T10:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/2008\/08\/16\/efisiensi-kompor-etanol-capai-54-persen\/"},"modified":"2008-08-16T10:04:11","modified_gmt":"2008-08-16T10:04:11","slug":"efisiensi-kompor-etanol-capai-54-persen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/efisiensi-kompor-etanol-capai-54-persen\/","title":{"rendered":"Efisiensi Kompor Etanol Capai 54 persen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ketua LPPM Prof Ir I Nyoman Sutantra MSc PhD menyatakan LPPM memang menugaskan tim Pusat Studi Energi dan Rekayasa untuk mengkaji bio-etanol dan kompornya. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Sesuai dengan bidangnya, kajian ini dilakukan dibawah tim tersebut,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ujarnya. Ada tiga kajian utama yang dilakukan sehubungan dengan energi alternatif tersebut. Yaitu yang pertama kajian tentang budidaya dan varian bahan baku bioetanol, kedua tentang proses pembuatan etanol, dan yang ketiga adalah desain kompor.<\/p>\n<p>Sesuai dengan MoU yang telah dilakukan dengan Pemkab Sidoarjo, ITS memang bertanggung jawab untuk melakukan pengembangan bio-etanol ini. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dBaik dari segi budidaya bahan baku, proses, sampai ke desain kompornya,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ujarnya. Sementara ini, seluruh proses dan kompor yang ada saat ini adalah hasil dari Koperasi Manunggal Sejahtera, Jogjakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Dari pengkajian sample bio-etanol BE40 di laboratorium Jurusan Kimia ITS, didapatkan hasil bahwa kalor BE40 adalah 5270 kKal\/kilogram. Dibandingkan dengan kalor kerosin, BE 40 ini hanya sekitar separuhnya. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Kalor kerosin mencapai 10322 kKal\/kilogram,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d terangnya. <\/p>\n<p>Hasil pengkajian kedua adalah titik nyala. Titik nyala BE 40 adalah 150 derajat Celcius, dan titik nyala kerosin 48 derajat celcius. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dKarakteristik titik nyala etanol sekitar 14 derajat celcius. Jadi BE 40 ini lebih sulit menyala,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d tambahnya. Selain itu, dari pengkajian ini didapatkan hasil kandungan air dalam BE40 ini mendapai 9 persen. Sehingga, kandungan etanolnya sekitar 91 persen. <\/p>\n<p>Sutantra menyatakan ITS juga melakukan kajian di luar laboratorium Kimia. Dari hasil pengujian praktis ini menunjukkan waktu nyala per liter etanol adalah enam jam. Sedangkan per liter kerosin hanya dua jam. Namun nilai kalor besar kecilnya api bergantung pada faktor-faktor lain yang belum<br \/>dikaji. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dSeperti misalnya sumbu kompor, hingga geometric lubang apinya,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d katanya. <\/p>\n<p>Dijelaskan Sutantra, pembakaran kompor sempurna ditandai dengan nyala api yang berwarna biru. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dJika pembakarannya tidak sempurna, warna apinya tidak bisa biru,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d pungkasnya.
