Kampus ITS, ITS News<\/strong> \u2014 <\/span>Departemen Teknik Transportasi Laut Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) hadir untuk menciptakan lulusan yang cakap dalam masalah pelabuhan, pelayaran, dan logistik maritim. Hal ini untuk mendukung upaya memaksimalkan kapal dan laut untuk meningkatkan sektor perekonomian bangsa.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Kepala Departemen Teknik Transportasi Laut ITS, Dr Ing Setyo Nugroho, menjelaskan bahwa program studi ini lebih bersifat function and demand oriented<\/em>. Hal itu karena materi yang diajarkan bergerak pada bidang sekitar kebutuhan jasa. Inilah yang membuat Departemen Teknik Transportasi Laut ITS turut memperhatikan aspek manajerial di dalamnya. \u201cTermasuk mendalami perihal perencanaan di bidang pelayaran, pelabuhan, dan logistik maritim,\u201d ungkapnya.<\/p>\n

Sistem dalam kegiatan transportasi laut sejatinya memiliki kompleksitas tersendiri sehingga harus diselaraskan satu sama lain. Mulai dari muatan, peraturan yang berlaku, jalur pelayaran, hingga kondisi kapal menjadi bagian yang tidak luput diperhatikan. \u201cBila diibaratkan, transportasi laut itu seperti orkestra. Mesti diselaraskan untuk hasilkan keluaran yang sempurna,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n

Pengembangan kapal sebagai moda transportasi utama di laut juga dilakukan dalam program studi ini. Kegunaannya untuk mengangkut barang niaga atau menjaga pertahanan bangsa lah yang membuat kapal perlu dikembangkan lebih jauh lagi. \u201cTeknik Transportasi Laut ITS berusaha juga menciptakan insinyur yang dapat memaksimalkan kemampuan dari sebuah kapal,\u201d tandas pria asal Kediri ini.<\/p>\n

Teori, konsep, dan praktik dalam bidang ilmu teknik transportasi laut<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Yoyog, sapaan akrabnya, mengungkapkan pada bidang kapal dan pelayaran yang diajarkan meliputi analisis teknis kapal, kenavigasian, lalu lintas kapal, dan pemodelan pola trayek untuk memastikan kapal dapat menjalankan misinya dengan sempurna. Sedangkan, pada bidang pelabuhan dan logistik maritim mencangkup kegiatan yang melengkapi bidang pelayaran seperti perencanaan, manajemen, serta pengelolaan pelabuhan dan supply chain<\/em> seputar transportasi laut.<\/p>\n

Pria berkacamata ini berharap, lulusan dari departemen yang bekerja sama dengan\u00a0Rotterdam University of Applied Science (RUAS) ini memiliki kapasitas untuk memajukan bangsa ini. \u201cSumber daya manusia yang dihasilkan oleh Transportasi Laut ITS harus bisa memberikan dampak bagi industri, pelayaran, masyarakat, bahkan berperan di kancah internasional,\u201d pungkasnya.<\/p>\n

Di bawah Fakultas Teknologi Kelautan ITS, departemen pelopor program studi teknik transportasi laut di Indonesia ini telah terakreditasi unggul oleh Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT). Departemen Teknik Transportasi Laut ITS ini juga telah mendapatkan penilaian akreditasi dari Indonesian Accreditation Board of Engineering Education (IABEE) terbaik se-ITS.
