Kampus ITS, ITS News \u2013<\/b> Gelaran Wisuda Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) ke-125 menjadi kali pertama Sekolah Interdisiplin Manajemen dan Teknologi (SIMT) meluluskan wisudawannya. Tercatat, SIMT meluluskan 101 wisudawan dengan 18 di antaranya memperoleh predikat <\/span>cumlaude<\/span><\/i>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dekan SIMT, Prof Ir I Nyoman Pujawan MEng PhD CSCP menyebutkan bahwa berdirinya SIMT merupakan wujud dari keseriusan ITS untuk mencetak lulusan kompetitif yang mampu bersaing di dunia kerja. \u201cSIMT ini sekolah pertama di luar fakultas yang dimiliki oleh ITS,\u201d tutur Nyoman.<\/span><\/p>\n

Guru besar ini menambahkan, sekolah pascasarjana ini merancang model pendidikan yang memenuhi kebutuhan industri di masa mendatang. \u201cBermacam disiplin ilmu dikemas untuk mencetak <\/span>business leaders<\/span><\/i> yang memiliki kemampuan analitis yang kuat dan tepat,\u201d imbuhnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

Banyak sekali harapan yang ditujukan bagi sekolah baru ITS ini. Nyoman berharap, para lulusan bisa menjadi para pengambil keputusan, pimpinan perusahaan yang bagus, dan bisa mengimplementasikan ilmu-ilmu yang didapatkan sewaktu kuliah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sebagai sekolah pertama di ITS, tantangan yang dihadapi SIMT adalah dapat dikenal oleh masyarakat luas. Dilihat secara program sebenarnya sudah cukup terkenal. Akan tetapi, program baru yang kita miliki baru bisa mencetak lulusan dua tahun lagi. Sehingga tantangan utama yang harus diselesaikan adalah bagaimana cara menjual program baru kita ke masyarakat lebih luas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Untuk itu, menurut Nyoman, SIMT telah melakukan berbagai upaya salah satunya membuat kurikulum yang relevan. Kurikulum disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan mereka sehingga banyak menggunakan dosen dan praktisi S3. Presentase tenaga pendidik yaitu 60% dari dosen ITS dan 40% praktisi. \u201c<\/span>Blending <\/span><\/i>tersebut ingin kami perkuat agar memiliki kompetensi dan daya saing di dunia kerja,\u201d jelas Nyoman. <\/span>(*)<\/b><\/p>\n
