Departemen Teknik Geofisika Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) menggandeng Pusat Penelitian dan Pengembangan Geologi Kelautan (P3GL) untuk mengulas lebih dalam tentang identifikasi perubahan lingkungan dari sampel sedimen core.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dalam agenda kuliah tamu yang berkenaan dengan mata kuliah Geofisika Kelautan tersebut, hadir Yani Permanawati SSi MSi sebagai Penyelidik Bumi Ahli Muda P3GL. Yani menjelaskan bahwa sedimen laut merupakan hasil deposisi sedimen yang memiliki sifat dan karakteristik materinya dipengaruhi oleh sumber pasokan serta proses selama pengendapan. Sedimen laut sendiri, lanjutnya, terdiri atas material berbagai sumber organik dan anorganik yang terlarut ataupun tersuspensi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adapun menurut Yani, kandungan organik dan organik tersebut terlarut dengan berbagai tekstur sedimen yang memiliki partikel tidak terkonsolidasi. Artinya, sampel tersebut tidak memiliki unsur lain ketika dianalisis. Lebih lanjut, sumber sedimen laut sendiri terbagi dalam lima kategori. \u201cSedimen darat, sedimen biogenik, sedimen hidrogenik, sedimen vulkanik; dan sedimen kosmogenik,\u201d terangnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selain itu, lulusan Ilmu Kelautan IPB tersebut menerangkan pula mengenai beberapa tahapan untuk mengidentifikasi perubahan lingkungan dari sampel sedimen. Di antaranya adalah <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">multi beam, single beam, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pengukur arus dan gelombang laut, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">conductivity temperature depth, water sampler, automatic tide gauge valeport tidemaster, weather station davis vantage, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">multiparameter, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">water quality test, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">DO meter, dan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">turbidity meter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dari pengukuran alat tersebut, didapatkan data menyesuaikan analisis kedalaman pengambilan sampel dan metode yang digunakan.
