Sehingga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pula kualitas akademik di UNTL, terutama bidang teknik.Sebelumnya, pihak UNTL telah melakukan kunjungan penjajakan kerjasama di ITS pada November 2007 lalu. <\/p>\n<p>Mereka mengungkapkan keinginan agar ITS bisa membantu mengembangkan pendidikan teknik di perguruan tinggi di kampusnya melalui sebuah proyek khusus. Proyek yang diberi nama Cadetes Project (Capacity Development of Teaching Staff) ini merupakan hasil kerjasama dengan JICA yang sudah dirintis sejak April 2006 lalu. Adanya pengalaman kerjasama dengan ITS sebelumnya, JICA pun merekomendasikan ITS untuk memberikan bantuan dalam proyek tersebut. <\/p>\n<p>Penandatangan MoU dilakukan oleh Pembantu Rektor IV ITS Ir Eko Budi Djatmiko MSc PhD, Pembantu Rektor bidang Kerjasama Internasional UNTL Aurelio Guterres PhD, dan Asisten Direktur II PENS ITS Ir Anang Tjahjono MT. Disaksikan langsung oleh Chief Adviser CADETES Project JICA Dr Eng. Hideko Kazama.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Pada kerjasama ini, kami berharap bisa membantu sepenuhnya untuk pengembangan SDM fakultas teknik di UNTL seperti di bidang keilmuan teknik mesin, teknik elektro, teknik fisika dan teknik sipil,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d tutur Eko Budi Djatmiko memberi sambutan. <\/p>\n<p>Selain peningkatan kualitas SDM, kerjasama juga ditujukan untuk menguatkan jejaring akademik dan hubungan yang saling menguntungkan di antara kedua institusi, serta memperkuat hubungan antara Indonesia dan Timor Leste melalui pertukaran pendidikan.<\/p>\n<p>Kerjasama pengembangan SDM tersebut nantinya meliputi pertukaran informasi baik untuk materi-materi perpustakaan, buku teks, jurnal akademik, dan lain-lainnya. Kerjasama diagendakan berlangsung selama setahun dan berakhir pada akhir Mei 2009. Setelah itu akan dilakukan evaluasi untuk kelanjutannya.
