ITS Campus, ITS News<\/strong> \u2013 At the admission of new students in 2022, the selection to enter the applied undergraduate or vocational program is again officially managed by the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> or separate from the SNMPTN and SBMPTN pathways. ITS hopes that this policy will provide wider opportunities for prospective students. They can continue their higher education in ITS Vocational Faculty (FV) through three choices of selection paths.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Head of the ITS Admissions Sub-Directorate, Dr. Eng Unggul Wasiwitono ST., M.Eng, Sc. explained that the choice of this selection path is similar to the mechanism for vocational programs during the 2020 new student admissions. The three paths include the achievement path with a 30 percent quota, the regular path with a 40 percent quota, and the rest for Vocational Independent Selection.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, ITS will select prospective students directly based on tracking achievements and academic portfolios in registration through the achievement path. Meanwhile, the regular and SKMP pathways need either Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) scores or ITS Academic Competency Test (TKA) results and track records.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding the change in the policy of this selection mechanism, Unggul said that when the admissions for vocational students were managed by LTMPT<\/a> last year, students’ interest in entering the ITS FV decreased. “So, the re-enactment of this policy hope that the participants will have various path to make choices according to their passion and not because of compulsion,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, continued Unggul, indirectly the quality and interest of prospective vocational students will also be better than if the selection is carried out simultaneously with the undergraduate academic level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“In addition, the SNMPTN and SBMPTN schemes implemented in the previous year are believed to provide the possibility for FV ITS to get prospective students from all over Indonesia,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, the ITS Mechanical Engineering Department<\/a> lecturer advised. The broader opportunities for prospective students to study at ITS urge high school\/MA\/SMK\/MAK graduates to recognize their passion before choosing a study program. For those who prefer practical things, then the right choice is the ITS Vocational Program which has a curriculum structure with the industrial world. So that graduates are expected to be directly absorbed by the industry. “One of them is the mandatory industrial internship for one semester,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

It should also be noted that the study program at FV ITS only accepts SMA\/MA graduates majoring in Science and SMK\/MAK graduates from relevant majors, according to the Regulation of the Director-General of Primary and Secondary Education Number 06\/D.D5\/KK\/2018 dated 7 June 2018 concerning the Spectrum of Expertise for Vocational High Schools (SMK)\/Madrasah Aliyah Vocational Schools (MAK).<\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in 2022, ITS opens selection for eight applied undergraduate study programs. Namely, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Water Building Construction Engineering Technology, Energy Conversion Engineering Technology, Building Management and Maintenance Engineering Technology, Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Technology Engineering, Automation Engineering Technology, and Business Statistics.<\/span><\/p>\n
