Tidak terkecuali Pemerintah Indonesia yang memacu industri-industri berbasis energi hijau sebagai salah satu fokus kebijakan investasi. Indonesia dinilai mempunyai potensi besar karena memiliki pasokan bahan baku pendukung, salah satunya kandungan lithium yang juga ditemukan di lumpur Sidoarjo.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Peneliti senior dari <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/drpm\/beranda\/pusat\/pusat-penelitian\/puslit-mkpi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pusat Penelitian Mitigasi Kebencanaan dan Perubahan Iklim (Puslit MKPI) ITS<\/a> Dr Ir Amien Widodo MSi mengatakan, lithium adalah salah satu <em>Critical Raw Materials<\/em> (CRMs) atau material kritis. Dikatakan material kritis karena sulit didapatkan dan tidak memiliki pengganti, tetapi memiliki manfaat yang besar. Dosen Departemen Teknik Geofisika itu juga menyebutkan material kritis ini sangat diperlukan dalam pengembangan energi hijau.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Amien menyebutkan salah satu kebijakan pemerintah dalam pengembangan energi hijau adalah percepatan produksi kendaraan listrik. Produksi massal baterai pun dilakukan. Meskipun Indonesia memiliki 25 persen cadangan nikel dunia sebagai bahan baku pembuatan baterai, produksi baterai juga membutuhkan lithium yang sayangnya sampai saat ini masih belum ditemukan lokasi penambangan yang menjanjikan. \u201cPenemuan potensi kandungan lithium di lumpur Sidoarjo adalah kabar baik. Kajian ini dilakukan dengan adsorbsi lithium dari lumpur Sidoarjo menggunakan adsorben berbasis Lithium Mangan Oksida (LMO). Adsorben ini memiliki struktur kristal spinel yang mampu menyerap lithium. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan kandungan lithium dengan kadar sebesar 7 hingga 15 bagian per juta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Penelitian serupa juga dilakukan oleh <a href=\"https:\/\/geologi.esdm.go.id\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Badan Geologi Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM)<\/a> pada 2020 menggunakan teknik <em>Inductively Coupled Plasma \u2013 Optical Emission Spectrometry<\/em> (ICP-OES). Itu karena kami mengambil sampel berupa air lumpur, sedangkan Badan Geologi melakukan penelitian pada lumpurnya,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dosen yang menamatkan pendidikan di Universitas Gadjah Mada itu memaparkan bahwa data yang ada saat ini masih merupakan hasil penelitian awal dan masih membutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut.
