Melihat permasalahan tersebut, mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) menginovasikan energi listrik dari limbah jerami dan lumpur Sidoarjo yang saat ini belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Indonesia sebagai negara agraris memiliki lahan pertanian padi sangat luas, sehingga limbah jerami padi yang dihasilkan pun sangat melimpah. Yakni metode yang digunakan untuk mengubah energi kimia menjadi energi listrik melalui metabolisme mikroba terhadap suatu media sebagai katalis. \u201cMetode ini mentransfer elektron dari anoda melalui copper wire, kemudian menghasilkan arus listrik menuju katoda,\u201d jelas mahasiswa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tkimia\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Departemen Teknik Kimia ITS<\/a> ini.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Lebih dalam, Fara memaparkan proses pengolahan jerami padi dan lumpur Sidoarjo hingga menjadi energi listrik. Didahului dengan pengekstrakan limbah jerami lalu diencerkan dan dipisahkan antara cairan dan padatannya. Selanjutnya electron ditransmisikan dari anoda ke katoda yang keduanya berbahan carbon cloth twill melalui bahan konduktor resistor. \u201cLumpur Sidoarjo yang kerap dianggap sebagai masalah ini mengandung mikroorganisme yang berperan penting dalam proses transfer elektron dalam MFC,\u201d ungkap mahasiswi angkatan 2021 ini.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Fara menambahkan, semakin banyak glukosa yang digunakan maka arus listrik yang ditimbulkan akan semakin besar.
