ITS Campus, ITS News \u2013<\/span><\/strong>Incubator and Technology Innovation Division under the auspices of Instrumentation Engineering Department Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> inaugurated the Independent System Inclinometer Device Development Program. The inauguration was held directly in the partner company’s building yard PT Teknindo Geosistem Superior<\/a>, Wednesday (10\/11).<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The inclinometer is a technology used to analyze and calculate the slope of the ground. However, several industries engaged in inland construction, such as PT Teknindo Geosistem Unggul, still import these tools abroad. If the equipment is damaged, the company must send the equipment to the country of origin for repair, and it will take a long time. “The use of local products can also save industrial expenses,” said Murry Raditya ST MT, the ITS Incubator and Technology Innovation Division team leader.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The development of the tool for use by PT Teknindo Geosistem Unggul also supports the government’s efforts to optimize the Domestic Content Level (TKDN) in the procurement of goods and services. Quoted from the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), the industry must use domestic products at least 43.3 percent of the total equipment and is targeting to increase to 50 percent by 2024.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Instrumentation Engineering Department lecturer added that this inclinometer is based on the internet of things (IoT) to remotely monitor measurement data results. The measurement results are read in real-time through a special server that has been provided with an accuracy above 95 percent. “This special server will maintain data security so that it is not easily stolen,” he explained.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

In its use, Murry continued, the soil needs to be drilled to a certain depth, then the inclinometer casing in the form of a pipe is plugged into the limit of the measurement point. Next, the sensor probe will be inserted into the line. The sensor probe will continue to move up to the surface following the slope of the ground. “The sensor probe will send data to the receiver, which is then read in the software for re-analysis,” he explained.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Together with Ir Dwi Oktavianto Wahyu Nugroho ST MT and 13 other ITS Instrumentation Engineering Department students, Murry managed to make this tool to completion within ten months. “This tool is also suitable to be applied in the landslide planning system in Indonesia,” said Murry.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Finally, Murry hopes that this innovation can apply to other science fields that correlate with soil shifting. He also hopes that this tool can be developed more widely in Indonesia in the future. “Hopefully, this tool can provide benefits for the Indonesian people,” he concluded.
