Hal tersebut seperti yang diungkapkan Prof Rachel Cardell-Oliver pada acara <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Guest Lecture<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, Jumat (15\/10). Acara tersebut merupakan kerja sama antara Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) dengan dengan University of Western Australia (UWA).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dalam acara yang bertema penggunaan WSN dengan akurat dan biaya terjangkau, pria yang akrab disapa Rachel mengatakan, WSN merupakan teknologi yang baru dan mudah dikembangkan. Teknologi ini dapat melakukan proses <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sensing, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">kontrol, dan komunikasi untuk memonitor lingkungan sekitar. \u201cWSN dapat berupa node atau sensor untuk mengambil dan melakukan pengolahan data untuk dikirim ke node lain,\u201d sambungnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adapun riset yang berkembang saat ini, menurut Rachel adalah riset yang membuat WSN menjadi lebih efisien. Dengan bantuan teknologi yang berkembang, WSN dibuat menjadi lebih akurat, biaya yang terjangkau, hemat energi, dan perawatan yang mudah. \u201cTentunya akan lebih baik lagi ketika daya tahan dan kemampuan WSN dapat dipantau secara <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">realtime<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> dengan aplikasi,\u201d lanjutnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menurut Rachel, WSN dapat dilakukan digunakan dimana saja seperti ladang, hutan, bangunan besar, kawasan pedesaan, dan perkotaan. Salah satu kelebihan yang dimiliki WSN menurut Rachel adalah WSN tidak membutuhkan jaringan kabel untuk menghubungkannya. \u201cUntuk menghubungkan jaringan WSN, pengguna dapat melakukan menggunakan sinyal radio,\u201d tambahnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dengan berkembangnya WSN, tambah Rachel, harga alat sensor akan menjadi lebih terjangkau dan mudah untuk ditemukan. Pilihan komunikasi yang digunakan pun akan menjadi beragam karena ada jaringan <i>Bluetooth<\/i>, radio, dan telepon seluler. \u201cSelain itu, untuk penyimpanan akan dimaksimalkan dengan menggunakan sistem <i>cloud<\/i>,\u201d lanjut alumnus yang mengambil doktoral di Universitas Cambridge.<\/span><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-62614\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Sensor-Liputan-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"647\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Sensor-Liputan-2.png 532w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Sensor-Liputan-2-300x185.png 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/10\/Sensor-Liputan-2-355x219.png 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 647px) 100vw, 647px\" \/><span style=\"font-size: 14px\">Sensor yang Profesor Rachel digunakan untuk riset mengenai WSN<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rachel Menjelaskan, dalam membangun WSN, pengguna harus mengumpulkan data terlebih dahulu melalui sensor lunak. Selanjutnya akan dilakukan prediksi dengan uji regresi atau <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">machine learning<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
