ITS Campus, ITS News \u2013<\/strong> The beautiful swing of the “Sparkling Surabaya” dance and melodious music started the festivities of the Opening of the 61st Anniversary of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a>, Thursday (9\/9). Held in a hybrid manner from the ITS Rectorate Building, this event highlighted the value of Advancing Humanity according to the ITS slogan by auctioning humanitarian project works aimed at those affected by Covid-19 and people with disabilities.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The slick virtual reality-based cinematography presentation invites the audience to explore the series of events with remarks from the Chairman of the ITS 61st Anniversary Committee, Prof. Ir Muhammad Sigit Darmawan MEngSc Ph.D. and his deputy Prof. Hamzah Fansuri SSi MSi Ph.D. The opening events presented various activities such as ITS Sportainment, ITS Entertainment, ITS Social Responsibility, ITS National Contribution, and ITS Dies Natalis Main Event.<\/p>\n

The value of Advancing Humanity as a milestone in the celebration of ITS Anniversary until its peak on November 10 means that ITS will continue to advance the degree of human life and civilization through the development of science, technology, and innovation. Implicitly shows the spirit of struggle for Humanity.<\/p>\n

\"GubernurEast Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, who was also present, virtually greeted at the Opening of the 61st Anniversary of ITS<\/span><\/p>\n

In line with this value, ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng said that during the Covid-19 pandemic, ITS presented several welfare policies to help students and education staff affected.<\/p>\n

In addition, the Chancellor, who is usually called Ashari, explained that ITS has an endowment policy to support the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. Then, following the existence of the Science Tower, the construction of various towers at ITS will continue to support lecture activities for \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bElectics, Vocational, and Creabiz Faculties at ITS. “To be more grounded, ITS will also strengthen innovation by starting the construction of the Science Techno Park area in 2021,” explained the Professor of Electrical Engineering.<\/p>\n

This year, ITS has also presented various innovations and inventions that focus on the health and humanity fields for the value of Advancing Humanity it brings. These include the RAISA robot, which plays an essential role in handling COVID-19 patients at Fatmawati Hospital in Jakarta and RSMH Palembang. “Other products are oxygen concentrators (Oxits) which were released one month ago to help meet the oxygen supply needs for Covid-19 patients,” Ashari added.<\/p>\n

Also present virtually, Angkie Yudistia, as an inspiration for the nation’s children who are always passionate about creating an inclusive ecosystem in Indonesia. Angkie, who is also a person who is deaf, said that people with disabilities have the same opportunities both as education providers and students. “The various innovations that ITS has carried out are expected to involve people with disabilities and can solve the socio-economic issues they face, especially in inclusive reforms during this pandemic,” the message from the Special Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia for Social Affairs said.<\/p>\n

The event continued with the auction session of ITS works guided by Sri Fatmawati SSi MSc Ph.D. The auctioned items include a set of ITS 61st Anniversary merchandise and a special skullcap with “61” engraving made by local craftsmen. The rattan guitar with laminated bamboo technology by ITS innovator Dr. Agus Windarto DEA is the most memorable thing. “There are only five of these guitars, and four of them are owned by great Indonesian musicians,” said the Chemistry Department lecturer, who is usually called Fatma.<\/p>\n

The guitar was successfully auctioned for Rp. 20 million by Rifqi Isnanda from the ITS Alumni Association (IKA) Jakarta. All auction proceeds will be donated through the ITS Covid-19 Task Force for people affected by Covid-19 and people with disabilities.
