Kampus ITS, ITS News <\/strong>\u2014 National Olympiad of Chemical Engineering (Nopec) 2021 kembali digelar oleh Departemen Teknik Kimia (Tekkim) Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS). Koordinator Nopec 2021, Ajeng Almira Tarisha menyebutkan jika peserta yang terdiri dari siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) diharapkan bisa menjadi super chemical engineer <\/em>yang berkualitas di masa depan.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Mengusung tema Collaborating Intelligence and Creativity, Acts as a Super Chemical Engineer<\/em>, acara ini mengangkat pentingnya kreativitas dan kecerdasan dalam menjadi seorang chemical engineer.<\/em> Tema tersebut diambil karena sebagai seorang chemical engineer <\/em>diperlukan kreativitas dan kecerdasan dalam sebuah perancangan proses agar bisa berjalan secara efektif dan efisien.<\/p>\n

Mahasiswa yang kerap disapa Tarisha ini menjelaskan jika peserta disediakan berbagai jenis soal berbentuk permainan yang harus diselesaikan sesuai dengan pengimplementasian tema. Permainan lawas seperti Sudoku dan Ular Tangga turut disuguhkan. \u201cAda juga Kotak-Katik, Memory Games, <\/em>dan banyak lagi permainan yang memang digalakkan untuk memberi tantangan lebih kepada peserta,\u201d tambahnya.<\/p>\n

Menurutnya, peserta juga diberikan kelas chemical engineering<\/em> sebelum mereka mendapatkan studi kasus mendesain sebuah pabrik. Pembekalan ini memberikan pemikiran yang terarah dan membantu peserta untuk berpikir layaknya seorang chemical engineer <\/em>saat menyelesaikan tantangan tersebut. \u201cIni juga supaya para peserta bisa memahami lebih dalam tentang tekkim dan industrinya,\u201d imbuh mahasiswa angkatan 2019 ini.<\/p>\n

Nopec sendiri merupakan bagian dari acara tahunan dari Tekkim ITS yaitu Chernival yang telah dibuka secara daring pertengahan Agustus lalu. Acara dengan lingkup nasional ini merupakan sebuah olimpiade tentang tekkim yang dilaksanakan dalam beberapa tahap sebelum akhirnya dipilih satu tim pemenang. Tim pemenang nantinya akan mendapatkan hadiah spesial berupa free pass <\/em>untuk masuk ke Teknik Kimia ITS setelah mereka lulus.<\/p>\n

Ketua Himpunan Mahasiswa Tekkim (Himatekk) ITS, Anggi Efando mengharapkan peserta tidak melihat Nopec sebagai sebuah kompetisi semata. Dengan mengikuti Nopec peserta sudah melakukan langkah yang lebih untuk mencari tahu ke mana mereka akan melanjutkan pendidikan mereka.<\/p>\n

Baginya, hal ini merupakan sarana untuk peserta mendapatkan wawasan yang sangat berharga. \u201cSebaiknya kalian (peserta, red) melihat ini juga sebagai wadah belajar untuk meningkatkan kreativitas serta kecerdasan untuk menjadi lebih baik,\u201d pungkasnya.(*)<\/strong><\/p>\n
