Pemanfaatan gasoline atau bensin dipadukan dengan energi listrik menjadi keunggulan mobil bersistem <em>hybrid<\/em>. Hal itu disampaikan pakar otomotif Suwito Sumargo dari LSM OTOpoint (Ikatan Peduli Otomotif) saat menyampaikan materi seminarnya.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u009dSelama ini banyak sekali gas beracun dan logam berat yang tedapat dalam bahan bakar kita. Seperti Karbonmonoksida dan timbal yang berbahaya bagi kesehatan dan lingkungan hidup. Untuk itu perlu tindakan preventif,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ungkap Suwito yang juga lulusan Teknik Mesin ITS ini.<\/p>\n<p>Dikatakan Suwito, <em>hybrid system<\/em> memiliki beberapa keunggulan yaitu emisi yang relatif rendah namun tetap bertenaga. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dKeunggulan lain dari teknologi ini selain ramah lingkungan dan konsumsi bahan bakar rendah juga mempunyai system powering yang handal,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ungkap Suwito.<\/p>\n<p>Meski demikian, Suwito menyayangkan sistem ini belum banyak dikenal masyarakat luas. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dNamun sayangnya sosialisasi akan keberadaan hybrid system masih sangat langka. Hanya sedikit pihak otomotif yang mau berbagi  pengetahuannya,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d tandas Pria berkacamata ini.<\/p>\n<p>Suwito juga menyatakan, ini tantangan buat mahasiswa Teknik Mesin ITS untuk mendalami bidang ini, dikarenakan kedepannya hybrid system menjadi mobil masa depan.  \u00e2\u20ac\u009dSaat ini mobil THS II (Toyota Hybrid System) Prius menjadi andalan Toyota Mobil yang laku keras di Jepang dan Amerika,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ujar Suwito memberi contoh. Lanjutnya <em>System hybrid<\/em> memiliki ciri khas, menggunakan<em> HV (Hybrid Vehicle) battery<\/em> yang tidak ditemukan di mobil yang lain.<\/p>\n<p>Sementara itu Pertamina yang diwakili Panda Krismianto memberikan materi berupa pemanfaatan Bahan Bakar Nabati (BBN) sebagai solusi mengatasi ketergantungan terhadap energi fosil. Alternatif bahan baku <em>biofuel<\/em> sangat mudah didapatkan dan dapat diperbaharui seperti tebu, pohon jarak dan ubi kayu.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u009dGas buang <em>biofuel<\/em> lebih baik dan pembakaran lebih sempurna, ditambah memakai <em>biofuel<\/em> tidak perlu memodifikasi mesin,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d terang Panda. Pria ini juga menambahkan,  keuntungan lain memakai <em>biofuel<\/em> umur mesin menjadi lebih panjang. <\/p>\n<p>Panda Krismianto juga berpesan untuk tidak ragu mengunakan <em>biofuel<\/em>. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dDengan kapasitas yang sama. Biofuel dibanding bensin mampu menghasilkan power yang lebih tinggi,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Pertamina sendiri, papar Panda, telah memiliki beberapa produk <em>Biofuel<\/em> yaitu Biosolar, Biopremium, dan Biopertamax. \u00e2\u20ac\u009dSaat ini memang  masih dijual terbatas di SPBU Jabotabek, Surabaya dan Malang,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d tandas karyawan Pertamina ini.  <\/p>\n<p>Namun Pertamina   akan mempebesar produksi Biofuel  keseluruh wilayah Indonesia.
