Bukan hanya dapat menggunakan baterai lithium-ion, Indonesia sebenarnya dapat memproduksi sendiri baterai tersebut karena kelimpahan cadangan nikel terbanyak di dunia yang berada di bawah permukaan bumi Indonesia.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Menurut Pendiri National Battery Research Institute (NBRI), Prof Dr rer nat Evvy Kartini, komposisi nikel menempati hingga delapan puluh persen tepatnya sebagai katoda dalam satu baterai ramah lingkungan ini. Namun, Indonesia masih belum dapat memaksimalkan kelimpahan nikelnya untuk membuat baterai lithium-ion sendiri karena tidak adanya wadah para ahli untuk bersatu. \u201cKita perlu tahu bagaimana cara mengolah nikelnya supaya dapat memproduksi baterai di Indonesia,\u201d ungkapnya.<\/p>\n<p>Tantangan lain yang perlu dihadapi Indonesia adalah semua tahapan harus dilakukan dengan ramah lingkungan, mulai dari penambangan nikelnya hingga untuk pengisian ulang baterai lithium-ion. \u201cJangan sampai berhasil memproduksi baterai lihitum-ion tetapi dalam prosesnya menghasilkan polusi,\u201d papar Evvy dalam acara Silver Talks yang diselenggarakan oleh Himpunan Mahasisw Teknik Metarial dan Metalurgi (HMMT) Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) pada Minggu, (5\/9).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_61139\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-61139\" style=\"width: 1366px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-61139\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/Screenshot-355.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1366\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/Screenshot-355.png 1366w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/Screenshot-355-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/Screenshot-355-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/Screenshot-355-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/09\/Screenshot-355-355x200.png 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-61139\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Rencana ekosistem industri baterai dan mobil listrik di Indonesia.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Karena tantangan yang ada, di pasaran Indonesia masih jarang ditemukan baterai lithium-ion sebagai sumber energi, melainkan menggunakan baterai lead-acid.
