ITS Campus, ITS News \u2013 As a pillar in the field of technology and innovation, students of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> ceaselessly produce innovations and achievements. This time, two students from the Department of Instrumentation Engineering and the Department of Physical Engineering ITS successfully initiated the innovation of the Covid-19 vaccine distribution indicator application called SI-ASIN.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The innovative idea has won first place in the National Essay Competition of Dies Natalis Department of Chemical Education<\/a>, Mataram University, last May. The two students who initiated the application are Hansel Pinggala Maheswara and Shirly Maulidina.<\/p>\n

Hansel Pinggala Maheswara, team leader, explained that the idea of SI-ASIN design in his essay was motivated by the gaps in handling Covid-19 in Indonesia. According to him, The Handling of Covid-19 is a problem that is faced together. It is important to be supported in terms of technology to facilitate information and data distribution.<\/p>\n

“SI-ASIN intended to accommodate all information related to Covid-19 vaccination in Indonesia,” explained Hansel. The information contained includes the nearest vaccination location, vaccine schedule selection, survivor data, and diagnosis of congenital diseases systemized in coverage per region.<\/p>\n

“SI-ASIN application is adequate for two users, namely the government as an administrator and the community as a member,” said the student who now sits in the 2nd semester. For the government, SI-ASIN will show data on age distribution, vaccination history, history of diseases and allergies, as well as data of people who have had physical contact with Covid-19 patients.<\/p>\n

As for the community, in addition to having access to see the schedule and location of vaccines, the facility that will be obtained through SI-ASIN is the transparency of data related to the number of people who have been vaccinated. “So that later will be formed trust between the community and the government, while facilitating the targeting of vaccines through data that continues to move,” said Hansel.<\/p>\n

At the end of the interview, Hansel and Shirly hope that SI-ASIN can be applied in real-time and contribute to the handling of Covid-19 in Indonesia. “Hopefully the innovations we are making today can lead us to re-innovate something else and race more in that regard,” he said.
