ITS gets the highest score in the International Student Ratio aspect with Bina Nusantara University (Binus) with a 4.5 score based on QS WUR<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

ITS Campus, ITS News<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/span>Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) yet again <\/span>proofs itself as one of the world-class universities. This is shown by ITS score in highest\u00a0<\/span>International Student Ratio<\/span><\/em>\u00a0aspect\u00a0in Indonesia with a score of 4.5 and the\u00a0second highest\u00a0<\/span>International Faculty Ratio<\/span><\/em>\u00a0aspect\u00a0with a score of 45.7 based on a ranking by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings (WUR) 2022 which was released, Wednesday (9\/6).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

According to the Senior Manager of ITS World-Class Affairs, Rulli Pratiwi Setiawan ST MSc Ph.D., the <\/span>International Student Ratio <\/span><\/em>is assessed from the ratio of international students to all active students studying at ITS.\u00a0Meanwhile, the\u00a0<\/span>International Faculty Ratio is<\/span><\/em> evaluated from the number of international lecturers who contribute to teaching, research, or the total number of lecturers.<\/span><\/p>\n

This ITS Urban and Regional Planning Department (PWK)<\/a> lecturer said that ITS had done many things to establish new international networks. Such as by initiating the <\/span>International Guest Lecture Series program<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>workshops<\/span><\/em>, research collaborations, and publications.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Rulli revealed that ITS still had to continue to improve other aspects. <\/span>“High or not is relative, but what is more important is how continuous improvement efforts are made and have an impact on improving ITS performance in all fields,” she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

ITS ranks the second-best score in Indonesia in the aspect of the International Faculty Ratio with a score of 45.7<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Besides these two aspects, QS WUR also assesses other aspects such as <\/span>Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty Student Ratio<\/span><\/em>, and\u00a0<\/span>Citation per Faculty.\u00a0Academic Reputation<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Employer Reputation are<\/span><\/em>\u00a0measured through a survey of academics and ITS partners, both overseas and domestically.\u00a0The survey results are calculated within the last five years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Every year, Rulli continued, ITS must deposit 400 new names for\u00a0<\/span>Academic Peers<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Employer Peers<\/span><\/em>. In addition, improvement\u00a0efforts to improve\u00a0<\/span>Academic Reputation<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Employer Reputation<\/span><\/em>\u00a0have been carried out starting in the last 1-2 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding\u00a0<\/span>Employer Peers<\/span><\/em>, continued Rulli, ITS continues to approach alumni and ITS alumni users to support ITS in this international ranking.\u00a0Meanwhile, for <\/span>Academic Peers<\/span><\/em>, the role of lecturers is needed not only to reconnect with existing academic partners but also to expand new networks so that they can nominate new academic partners every year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, regarding the aspect of the\u00a0<\/span>Faculty Student Ratio<\/span><\/em>, it is measured based on the ratio of the number of lecturers to the number of active students.\u00a0As well as the aspect of\u00a0<\/span>Indicator Citation per Faculty<\/span><\/em>, which is calculated based on the ratio of the total citations obtained for five years divided by the number of lecturers.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the steps taken by ITS is\u00a0<\/span>upgrading<\/span><\/em> the Final Project or Tugas Akhir (TA). “This program is expected so that students can upgrade final Projects into articles that can be published in reputable international journals,” she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, ITS succeeded in being ranked 6th in Indonesia in the QS WUR 2022 version.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For the Overall aspects of QS WUR 2022<\/a>, ITS ranks 751-800 globally and ranks 6th out of 16 participating Indonesian universities. <\/span>There are 1,300 universities around the world participating.\u00a0<\/span>“This number increases from last year, which was only 1,002 universities,” she said.<\/span><\/p>\n

This glasses-wearing woman also explained that ranking is not a goal. “But it is only a benchmark so that we can measure or evaluate the results of our performance,” said Rulli when delivering her statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rulli hopes that the results of this ranking can provide insights regarding what things still need to be improved in the future.\u00a0“So the results of this ranking can be used as input for the formulation of higher education policies,” she concluded. <\/span>(nadh\/ITS Public Relations)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
