Kreativitas ilmiah yang diwujudkan nyata siap beradu kehebatan dengan kompetitor lain.\u00a0 Hal inilah yang diwujudkan tim Spectronics 19 ITS melalui inovasinya berupa purwarupa mobil dengan sumber tenaga baterai berbahan pupuk ZA.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mereka adalah Rasyendria Rangga, Rahardian Mahendra Daniswara, Naning Retno Astuti, Bernardus Krisna Brata, Wahyu Febianto, mahasiswa ITS yang berada di balik inovasi ini. Melalui serangkaian riset hingga pengerjaan <em>prototipe <\/em>dilalui oleh tim ini hingga menghasilkan inovasi sumber daya baterai yang merupakan hasil buatan sendiri.<\/p>\n<p>Ketua tim, Rasyendria Rangga menjelaskan, ide\u00a0 purwarupa ini mulanya dirancang menggunakan DC motor. Dalam perencanaannya, akan digunakan dua sistem gerak dalam purwarupa ini, yakni <em>driving system <\/em>dan <em>stopping system<\/em>.\u00a0<em>Driving system<\/em> sendiri merupakan mekanisme agar purwarupa dapat berjalan, sedangkan <em>stopping system <\/em>adalah sebuah sistem yang berkaitan dengan cara purwarupa untuk berhenti.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih lanjut, mahasiswa yang akrab disapa Rangga ini menuturkan, <em>driving system<\/em> yang digunakan memanfaatkan baterai\u00a0<em>zinc-air<\/em>\u00a0yang dicelupkan ke elektrolit dan direaksikan ke peroksida dengan konsentrasi tertentu. Dengan demikian, baterai akan memiliki tenaga, sehingga dapat berfungsi untuk menggerakkan purwarupa. Sedangkan terkait mekanisme <em>stopping system,<\/em> reaksi kimia berupa dekomposisi hidrogen yang digunakan sebagai konsep utama. \u201cSalah satu inovasi besar dalam purwarupa ini terletak pada sumber daya baterai <em>zinc-air <\/em>yang\u00a0merupakan buatan kami sendiri,\u201d ujar mahasiswa kelahiran Gresik itu.<\/p>\n<p>Rangga melanjutkan, penginovasian baterai ini sendiri berdasar riset yang dilakukan tim Spectronics 19. Berdasar hal itu, ia bersama timnya menemukan bahwa penggunaan amonium klorida sebagai elektrolit dalam baterai <em>zinc-air <\/em>memiliki availibilitas yang kurang maskimal. Oleh karenanya, tim Spectronics 19 ini menggantinya dengan amonium sulfat yang didapat dari pupuk ZA. \u201cBerdasar hasil uji kami, amonium sulfat memiliki performa yang lebih bagus daripada amonium klorida,\u201d tandasnya.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_58448\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-58448\" style=\"width: 1365px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-58448\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/prototype.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1365\" height=\"767\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/prototype.png 1365w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/prototype-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/prototype-1024x575.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/prototype-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/04\/prototype-355x199.png 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1365px) 100vw, 1365px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-58448\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Prototipe mobil dengan baterai zinc-air buatan tim Spectronics 19<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dalam purwarupa mobil yang diciptakan timnya, ulas Rangga, setidaknya terdapat sepuluh baterai <em>zinc-air<\/em> yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan tegangan listrik sebesar sepuluh volt. Menggunakan sistem elektrik yang sederhana dan dibantu performa baterai berbahan pupuk ZA, tim yang dibimbing oleh Prof Hamzah Fansuri SSi MSi PhD ini berhasil menginovasikan purwarupa mobil yang efisien<em>. <\/em>Hal ini dibuktikan dengan adanya penghematan dalam penggunaan daya baterai untuk kerja yang sama. \u201cKemungkinan <em>error<\/em> juga menjadi lebih kecil,\u201d imbuhnya.<\/p>\n<p>Sempat mengalami kesulitan untuk mendapat bahan manufaktur dari luar negeri, tim yang menyelesaikan pembuatan purwarupa mobil dalam waktu satu bulan ini tak patah semangat.
