Menyadari produksi yang berkelanjutan, Ikatan Alumni Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) di Luar Negeri (IKA-ITS LN) bekerja sama dengan Pusat Penelitian Energi Berkelanjutan ITS mengadakan webinar series yang bertajuk \u201cA Review of Some Rock Mechanics Issues in Geothermal Reservoir Development,\u201d Sabtu (20\/03).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mengawali materinya, Muhammad Qarinur ST MEng selaku pemateri menjelaskan bahwa reservoir panas bumi merupakan bentuk formasi batuan di bawah permukaan yang mampu menyimpan uap dan atau air panas. Reservoir panas bumi ini termasuk ke dalam studi energi geotermal dimana sistem ini terdiri dari batuan panas pada kedalaman tiga kilometer dengan temperatur lebih dari 300 derajat celcius.<\/p>\n<p>Ia mengungkapkan, reservoir di Indonesia telah digunakan dengan total kapasitas listrik dari sumber panas bumi sebesar 1.948 MegaWatt Electrical (Mwe), per akhir 2018. Eksploitasi panas bumi dalam jumlah besar ini akan menyebabkan kekeringan di beberapa bagian reservoir panas bumi di Indonesia, antara lain temperatur reservoir, <em>drawdown<\/em> tekanan, <em>drawdown<\/em> termal, skala silika, dan masalah lainnya.<\/p>\n<p>Mahasiswa doktoral di Universitas Ehime, Jepang ini menjelaskan, dengan adanya eksploitasi secara berlanjut untuk pasokan listrik, studi geomekanis dan mekanika batuan dapat memberikan informasi penting untuk pengembangan penggunaan panas bumi yang ekonomis. \u201cIndustri ini akan lebih menantang dan maksimal ketika menggunakan konsep <em>Enhanced Geothermal Systems<\/em> (EGS),\u201d ungkapnya.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_57083\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-57083\" style=\"width: 1080px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-57083\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2021-03-20-at-18.15.21.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"738\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2021-03-20-at-18.15.21.jpeg 1080w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2021-03-20-at-18.15.21-300x205.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2021-03-20-at-18.15.21-768x525.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2021-03-20-at-18.15.21-1024x700.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2021-03-20-at-18.15.21-355x243.jpeg 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-57083\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lokasi penelitian reservoir panas bumi di langangan panas bumi Lahendong, Tomohon, Sulawesi Utara<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Menurutnya, EGS ini dapat menghasilkan listrik dari panas bumi tanpa memerlukan sumber daya alami bumi. Teknologi EGS ini akan meningkatkan dan menciptakan sumber daya panas bumi di batuan panas bumi melalui berbagai metode stimulasi. &#8220;Seperti <em>hydraulic stimulation<\/em> atau stimulasi fluida,&#8221; ungkapnya.<\/p>\n<p>Selain teknologi EGS yang bisa dikembangkan, ia juga menyampaikan data riset dari Badan Geologi Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Republik Indonesia (RI). Data tersebut berisi hasil kajian pengembangan energi terbarukan untuk mengurangi risiko eksploitasi panas bumi secara berkelanjutan jika suatu saat gagal menemukan sumber energi panas bumi yang memadai.<\/p>\n<p>Tidak mau kalah dengan pemerintah, mahasiswa ini pun juga ikut melakukan penelitian mandiri di lapangan panas bumi Lahendong yang terletak di Tomohon, Sulawesi Utara. Studi ini telah dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknologi khusus, FEM multi-fisika solve. \u201cAlat ini akan mempelajari karakteristik perpindahan panas, aliran fluida, dan deformasi di panas bumi\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n<p>Namun, skenario dari penelitian mandiri yang dilakukan belum dapat divalidasi oleh lembaga yang berwenang karena masih kurangnya data penarikan tekanan terukur dalam lapangan. \u201cPrediksi masa depan produksi belum dapat kami lakukan.
