Sejalan dengan salah satu tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, kesehatan mental menjadi unsur penting dalam mengukur kualitas kesehatan seseorang. Melalui Guest Lecture Series on SDGs pada Selasa (16\/3), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) membagikan strategi untuk membina kesehatan mental di kala pandemi.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Membuka paparannya, Dr Benny Soliman RGC LPT RPM mengatakan menurut laporan World Health Organization (WHO) dan Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) pada tahun 2020, Covid-19 menimbulkan stres dan kecemasan di seluruh populasi. Hal ini berdampak pada terganggunya kesehatan mental. &#8220;Kesehatan mental berhubungan dengan cara kita merasakan, berpikir, dan bertindak,&#8221; ujar akademisi Tarlac Agricultural University ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Benny menguraikan, ada beberapa gejala yang menandakan kesehatan mental kita sedang memburuk. Diantaranya adalah kecenderungan mengisolasi diri dari orang lain, merasa putus asa akan situasi, mengalami gangguan tidur dan makan, tidak dapat menikmati rutinitas yang menyenangkan, serta kesulitan berkonsentrasi. \u201cKhusus untuk gangguan tidur dan makan tidak sebatas pada kekurangan waktu tidur dan asupan makan saja, tetapi dapat terjadi sebaliknya,\u201d imbuhnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dalam hal ini, Benny memperkenalkan model yang ia kembangkan untuk membina kesehatan mental, yaitu model <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Relaxation, Activities, Cognitive, Social<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (RACS). Benny mengungkapkan, RACS sendiri terdiri dari strategi dalam melakukan relaksasi, aktivitas, kemampuan kognitif, serta hubungan sosial. &#8220;Model ini dikembangkan berdasarkan berbagai literatur serta studi yang dilakukan oleh para praktisi kesehatan,&#8221; ujarnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Benny menjelaskan, strategi relaksasi dapat dilakukan dengan aktivitas latihan pernapasan secara tenang. Ia menjelaskan bahwa latihan ini adalah metode tercepat menetralkan stres. Benny menjelaskan, aktivitas fisik yang dimaksud dalam hal ini adalah latihan fisik secara rutin, dilakukan secara konsisten tergantung kemampuan diri. &#8220;Melakukan latihan fisik rutin ini selama 30 menit bahkan dapat meningkatkan suasana hati selama 2 jam,&#8221; jelas laki-laki yang berasal dari Filipina ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Strategi selanjutnya yaitu dalam kemampuan kognitif. Benny menyatakan, terkadang apa yang seseorang pikirkan memengaruhi apa yang ia rasakan dan bagaimana dirinya bertindak. Dalam kaitannya dengan kondisi mental, maksudnya adalah bukan sebuah peristiwa yang menyebabkan seseorang mengalami gangguan emosional, melainkan cara ia berpikir tentang peristiwa tersebutlah penyebabnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Melengkapi model RACS yaitu strategi dalam hubungan sosial. Benny mengungkapkan, di masa yang sulit ini manusia sebagai makhluk sosial harus mengembangkan jalinan sosial yang kuat. Hal ini bisa diatasi dengan mencari dukungan dari orang-orang yang terdekat, seperti teman dekat atau keluarga. Menurutnya, tidak apa-apa jika membutuhkan bantuan profesional untuk membantu kita.
