Melihat hal ini, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) melalui Pusat Penelitian (Puslit) Agri-Pangan dan Teknologi melakukan studi untuk memproduksi <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">biofertilizer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> yang mampu tingkatkan kesuburan tanah serta meningkatkan kualitas tanaman.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menurut Kepala Puslit Agri-Pangan dan Bioteknologi ITS, Dr rer nat Ir Maya Shovitri MSi, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">biofertilizer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> merupakan jenis pupuk yang mengandung berbagai mikroorganisme. Penggunaan mikroorganisme untuk meningkatkan kesuburan tanah sendiri dinilai Maya lebih ramah lingkungan daripada penerapan metode ekstensifikasi dan intensifikasi lahan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sebab, Ia mengungkapkan, terdapat kolaborasi yang saling menguntungkan antara tanaman dan mikroorganisme yang ada di tanah. Tanaman memproduksi berbagai zat yang dibutuhkan oleh mikroorganisme, sementara mikroorganisme memproduksi zat kimia yang diperlukan tanaman, seperti nitrogen, potasium, dan fosfat. \u201cKita tidak membutuhkan zat kimia tambahan untuk tanah di sekitar tanaman,\u201d ujar ahli <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">biofertilizer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> itu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Terkait hal tersebut, dosen Departemen Biologi ITS ini menjelaskan bahwa <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">biofertilizer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> yang dibuat oleh Puslit Agri-Pangan dan Bioteknologi ITS menggunakan enam mikroba dari jenis (genus) <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pseudomonas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Azotobacter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, dan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bacillus.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Keenam mikroba tersebut memiliki kemampuan melarutkan nitrogen, potasium, dan fosfat serta mampu memproduksi auksin.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_56380\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-56380\" style=\"width: 1366px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-56380\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/2-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1366\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/2-1.png 1366w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/2-1-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/2-1-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/2-1-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/03\/2-1-355x200.png 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-56380\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Maya menjelaskan pengaruh penambahan mikroorganisme pada tanah di sekitar tanaman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lebih lanjut, Maya mengungkapkan, hasil pengujian menunjukkan keenam mikroba mampu hidup bersamaan di dalam tanah. Selain itu, Ia menerangkan bahwa dilakukan pengujian <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">biofertilizer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> pada sampel tanah yang ditanami jagung manis.
