The Chancellor of ITS and the Mayor of Tangerang signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which both parties agreed in a virtual ceremony.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

ITS Campus, ITS News \u2013 <\/strong>The Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) strives to improve collaborations that are more innovative and useful. This time, through the signing of a virtual memorandum of understanding or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tangerang City Government (Pemkot), Tuesday (23\/2), ITS received the mandate to improve the capabilities of primary and secondary school teachers in the area.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

ITS Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng, in his speech, stated that this collaboration was an extraordinary opportunity because the impact felt would lead to better things. “Starting with participation in this learning process enhancement assistance program, we hope that it can further expand cooperation with the Tangerang City Government,” said the chancellor, who is often called Ashari.<\/p>\n

In improving the learning process, ITS will provide training for teachers who teach in Elementary Schools (SD) and Junior High Schools (SMP), which are still the City Government’s direct responsibility. According to the initiator of this collaboration program, Prof. Hamzah Fansuri MSi Ph.D., training will be held for teachers in Mathematics and Natural Sciences.<\/p>\n

“It is not only limited to the two fields of study, but there will also be training in the field of information technology to support the learning process in schools,” said the Dean of the ITS Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD).<\/a><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Hamzah explained, this collaboration began with independently funded community service activities by ITS Chemistry Department lecturers to train non-Civil Servant Junior High School (PNS) teachers in Tangerang City in the chemistry learning process. The action, led by Hamzah and Dr. Triyanda Gunawan, was held at the end of 2020. “With the material presented covers the basic concepts of Chemistry and Chemistry in everyday life for the junior high school level,” said the professor of Chemistry.<\/p>\n

However, Hamzah added, these activities are still not protected by a legal umbrella, so that the Tangerang City Government Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BPKPSDM)<\/a> took the initiative to make an MoU oversee future collaborative activities. “In the end, a memorandum of understanding was agreed that would be valid for the next three years, and the deadline can still be extended,” said Hamzah.<\/p>\n

The memorandum of understanding covers several things, one of which is preparing program designs and development policies and studies on the development of infrastructure in the fields of education, research, and community service. Some points prioritize communication and information technology in the human resource development cooperation network in Tangerang City.<\/p>\n

So that in this collaboration, it is hoped that the lecturers from ITS FSAD can participate directly in the teacher training program. Meanwhile, faculties or other units related to planning, information systems, and information technology can also help provide socialization that supports the learning process.<\/p>\n

“After this agreement is signed, we will immediately carry out training activities for Mathematics teachers at the junior high school level and regional development planning training activities,” explained Hamzah closing his explanation. (ITS Public Relations)<\/strong><\/p>\n
