Kampus ITS, ITS News \u2014<\/strong>Mendukung penuh penerapan Sustainable Development Goals<\/em> (SDGs), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) pun menghelat Guest Lecture Series<\/em> (GLS) yang di dalamnya membahas SDGs 2030. Acara gawanan ITS Global Engagement (GE) ini diselenggarakan selama sembilan hari di sepanjang bulan Maret.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

GLS merupakan kegiatan tahunan yang dilaksanakan oleh ITS GE. Tahun lalu, GLS hadir dengan tema perubahan iklim yang berhasil menjaring 1900 partisipan, yang mana 900 di antaranya merupakan partisipan internasional.<\/p>\n

Berbeda dengan tahun lalu, saat ini GLS membicarakan seputar pentingnya SDGs serta komitmen ITS dalam mewujudkannya. Rektor ITS, Prof Dr Ir Mochamad Ashari MEng menyampaikan jika ITS tak hanya berfokus pada bidang teknik, tetapi juga berkontribusi dalam mencapai SDGs yang juga diusung oleh Persatuan Bangsa Bangsa (PBB).<\/p>\n

Beberapa bukti nyatanya, Ashari menuturkan jika ITS berupaya untuk mengelola sampah dan energi, hingga penghematan air dengan mandiri. Selain itu, ITS juga mempunyai sepuluh pusat penelitian dan lima pusat pembelajaran yang bekerja sebagai komunitas pengembangan.<\/p>\n

\u201cSemua inovasi, pusat penelitian, dan pusat pembelajaran bekerja bersama untuk menggapai keberhasilan dalam program SDGs,\u201d ungkap Guru Besar Departemen Teknik Elektro ini.<\/p>\n

GLS ini juga menjadi salah satu upaya ITS dalam bekerja sama dengan berbagai universitas internasional untuk membahas langkah-langkah untuk mewujudkan SDGs. Satu di antaranya adalah Istanbul Aydin University, salah satu universitas yang mengisi materi terkait Nature-based Solutions<\/em> pada awal GLS ini digelar.<\/p>\n

Hingga akhir pelaksanaannya, acara ini berhasil menghadirkan kurang lebih 200 partisipan. Setidaknya terdapat sembilan pertemuan daring yang telah dilakukan untuk membahas SDGs, dengan empat di antaranya berfokus pada pengembangan skill dan aplikasi. \u201cInilah salah satu bentuk komitmen kita terhadap SDGs,\u201d tutur Ashari berkomentar.
