ITS Campus, ITS News –<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0In order to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus, people who have been declared reactive are required to carry out independent isolation.\u00a0Supporting this, the student team of the Instrumentation Engineering Department, Faculty of Vocational Technology, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) succeeded in devising a tool that would ensure that reactive patients remain at home to break the chain of virus spread.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The team with the name INSecuriteam consisting of Eko Rian Fauzi, Mia Dwi Susanti, Arinditya Berlinda Putri Susanto, Aldy Ramadhan Syahrudin, Irga Merdiansyah, and Tiffany Rachmania Darmawan initiated an idea entitled\u00a0<\/span>Success of Independent-Box Isolation (SIMBOX): Discipline and Public Health Monitoring System, based on IoT as an Innovation to Support the Success of Independent Isolation<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0The idea has also succeeded in winning the LKTI 2020 Indonesian Vocational Olympiad (OLIVIA) in the Science and Technology Sub-Category some time ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team’s tool was awarded \u00a0the Most Applicative Innovation, since it features will make health workers ensure reactive patients and family members to remain disciplined in self-quarantine. SIMBOX itself is equipped with\u00a0face detection-based<\/em> presence tools.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is equipped with features to see patient progress in a temperature sensor and a heart rate sensor. “The measurement results of this tool will be sent to a\u00a0<\/span>database<\/span><\/em> which medical officers can also access at puskesmas or other health facilities,” explained the Head of INSecuriteam.<\/span><\/p>\n

In its operation, continued Eko, SIMBOX will be\u00a0<\/span>set up<\/span><\/em> in advance by the puskesmas or health facility (faskes) worker through the application. The health worker will enter the Population Identification Number (NIK) for the patient’s family member who already has a KTP. Other data will be entered automatically according to the KTP data. “For those who do not have a KTP, the data will be entered manually,” added this 2018 class student.<\/span><\/p>\n

After that, said Eko, SIMBOX will be installed in the house of patients who carry out independent isolation.\u00a0At certain times, the device will turn on an\u00a0<\/span>alarm<\/span><\/em> to remind family members’ attendance time.\u00a0At this time, the ultrasonic sensor will detect whether there is anyone in front of the device.\u00a0The camera will then capture the person’s face and be detected by a <\/span>face detector<\/span><\/em>\u00a0to match the\u00a0<\/span>database.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Furthermore, the\u00a0<\/span>alarm<\/span><\/em> will go off, and the device will turn on the temperature and heart rate sensors.\u00a0The temperature measurement will be carried out automatically, while the heart rate reading will be operated by the patient using a\u00a0<\/span>pulse sensor<\/span><\/em>.\u00a0“The data that has been obtained will be sent and stored in\u00a0<\/span>cloud storage<\/span><\/em>\u00a0which can then be accessed by medical personnel,” said Eko.<\/span><\/p>\n

Face detection-based-attendance\u00a0tools inspired this team idea.\u00a0This kind of device is often used in various places such as offices for the presence of employees. “Besides that, it is also commonly used as a security system such as in apartments or hotels,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

After successfully clearing the competition’s champion, added Eko, INSecuriteam plans to make a prototype. With the assistance of their supervisor, Sefi Novendra Patrialova SSi MT, they will need simulations and further development.\u00a0“For the\u00a0<\/span>progress<\/span><\/em>\u00a0itself, now we have started to collect the components.\u00a0However, it will require consultation with supervisors and other lecturers for technology development, “said the student who was born in Probolinggo.<\/span><\/p>\n
