ITS Campus, ITS News \u2013\u00a0<\/b>As a university that continues to actively produce graduate engineers, this time, the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) has re-appointed 47 new engineers. The inauguration of engineers who graduated from ITS Professional Engineering Program (PSPPI), which was held for the first time separately from the graduation procession, was successfully held online, this Saturday (14\/11).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The inauguration procession of ITS PSPPI graduates this time was quite emotional. After taking a program that lasted for six months, finally, the ITS students who took part in the PSPPI were at the end of the process and managed to get an engineering degree.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are a total of 47 students who have completed this study program. With details, as many as 26 people from odd semester graduates and 21 people from even semester 2019\/2020 graduates.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Dr. Ir Adi Soeprijanto MT, Deputy Rector I for Academic and Student Affairs ITS, who was also present, congratulated the newly appointed engineers. “I hope that after becoming an engineer, all colleagues can more freely devote themselves to the nation and country, especially in the world of professionalism,” he ordered.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his remarks, Adi also said that after this the graduates can become members of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII). That way, all can move in one association to jointly develop the country. “We also ask colleagues to always remember our alma mater, namely ITS and always maintain a good name, and live up to its name,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

This inauguration was also specially attended by the chairman of the East Java PII, Prof. Dr. Ir. H Mohammad Bisri, MS IPU. He expressed his gratitude to ITS which is always active in graduating engineers every year. “We welcome the engineers who graduated from ITS to become a big family of the East Java Region PII and hopefully we can all devote ourselves to building the nation, especially in the East Java region,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

On that occasion, Bisri explained that engineers are needed by Indonesia. “In East Java, there will be about 218 national strategic projects worth around Rp 292.4 trillion over the past few years,” Bisri explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

He also added, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), 2.5 million engineers are needed by 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, Bisri regretted that currently for the East Java region only five universities were actively producing graduate engineers, including ITS, with an average of 1,000 engineers per year. “It is very far from the target, so I really hope that ITS as a technology campus will continue to be active and add engineer graduates in the future, and also can become the forefront of Indonesia’s development,” Bisri concluded. <\/span>(meg\/far\/ITS Public Relations)<\/b><\/p>\n
