Menghadapi permasalahan ini, Tim Antasena dari Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) menciptakan solusi dengan merancang alat-alat untuk mereduksi emisi CO2 yang diberi nama Adsorption, Separation of CO2, O2 and N2 (ASCON) dan Utilization CO2 to Methane (UCM).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tim Antasena sendiri adalah tim besutan ITS yang berfokus dalam melakukan riset dan pengembangan mobil hidrogen. Namun kali ini tak melulu soal riset mobil, tim yang menjadi langganan juara di berbagai kompetisi nasional dan internasional ini juga sukses membuktikan kemampuan mereka melalui riset karya ilmiah.<\/p>\n<p>Kepala Pusat Penelitian Material dan Teknologi Nano ITS sekaligus dosen pembimbing Tim Antasena, Dr Agung Purniawan ST M Eng menjelaskan bahwa seiring dengan bertambahnya usia bumi, kadar gas CO2 juga turut meningkat. \u201cCO2 biasanya ditemui pada gas buang kendaraan bermotor hingga gas emisi rumah tangga,\u201d papar Agung.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk mengurangi CO2 pada emisi skala rumah tangga, Tim Antasena usung ASCON yang memiliki sistem separator untuk mengkonversi CO2 menjadi gas yang memiliki nilai jual seperti oksigen (O2), nitrogen (N2) dan juga metana (CH4). \u201cASCON lahir dari hasil pengembangan ide awal hasil diskusi dosen pembimbing dengan Tim Antasena angkatan 2017,\u201d ungkap Agung.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_54115\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-54115\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-54115 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-12-16-at-15.33.18-1024x575.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"575\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-12-16-at-15.33.18-1024x575.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-12-16-at-15.33.18-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-12-16-at-15.33.18-768x431.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-12-16-at-15.33.18-355x199.jpeg 355w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-12-16-at-15.33.18.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-54115\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(dari kiri) Gilang Maulana Alif, Ahmad Fahmi Prakoso, Ario Bhismo Nugroho, Rikza Oktavian Pratama, dan Risa Wahyu Widyastuti selaku perwakilan Tim Antasena ITS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Menurut Agung, alat yang sukses membawa pulang medali emas dalam World Invention and Technology Expo (WINTEX) 2020 ini bekerja dengan menyerap emisi rumah tangga melalui <em>exhaust fan.<\/em> Emisi yang diserap tersebut kemudian disimpan pada tangki penyimpanan.<\/p>\n<p>Selanjutnya, imbuh Agung, emisi gas dalam tangki penyimpanan dihisap oleh kompresor menuju mesin separator ASCON yang dapat memisahkan gas-gas menjadi N2, H2O dan CO2. \u201cGas CO2 yang sudah dipisahkan akan diproses oleh reaktor menghasilkan CH4,\u201d jelas dosen kelahiran 1976 tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk mengurangi polusi CO2 yang dihasilkan oleh gas buang kendaraan bermotor, Tim Antasena merancang alat bernama UCM yang manfaatkan reaksi kimia untuk mengubah CO2 menjadi gas metana yang memiliki nilai ekonomis, \u201cUCM juga dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pembakaran kendaraan,\u201d jelas dosen Departemen Teknik Material dan Metalurgi ITS ini.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk cara kerjanya sendiri, lanjut Agung, alat yang juga berhasil kantongi medali perunggu dalam WINTEX 2020 ini menyalurkan gas hasil pembakaran mesin kendaraan bermotor ke konverter katalitik. Puncaknya, alat diuji dalam simulasi perangkat lunak untuk melihat kelayakannya. Banyak tantangan yang muncul, terutama dalam kondisi pandemi. \u201cUntuk mengatasinya, tim harus meningkatkan koordinasi dan disiplin mereka,\u201d ujar Agung.<\/p>\n<p>Sebagai sumber energi masa depan, hidrogen memiliki potensi yang besar di masa depan.
