Alat yang diberi nama <em>Smart Fish Detection Technology<\/em> (SMAF-DT) ini mampu mendeteksi area dengan banyak ikan, sehingga nelayan bisa menebar jaring di area tersebut dan mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dua mahasiswa tersebut adalah Rafly Zaka Rulloh dan Figo Fergiyanto Dachlan. Keduanya mendapatkan ide tersebut berawal dari pengamatan mereka terhadap kebiasaan para nelayan yang setiap hari mencari ikan di Selat Madura. Mereka melihat hasil tangkapan ikan nelayan Kabupaten Bangkalan relatif sedikit dibandingkan dengan nelayan daerah lain, sehingga berpengaruh pada perekonomian mereka.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Rafly menjelaskan hal tersebut terjadi karena daerah jangkauan perairan yang kecil. Selain itu, metode penangkapan ikan juga masih menggunakan cara lama. Yakni dengan cara menebar jaring di tengah laut berdasarkan naluri, ingatan dan perkiraan para nelayan terhadap riwayat penangkapan ikan sebelumnya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Saat di tengah laut, nelayan menebar jaring dan memukul-mukul air di sekelilingnya supaya ikan-ikan tersebut bergerak menuju jaring. Alat bernama SMAF-DT ini dipasang pada bagian bawah perahu sehingga dapat mendeteksi keberadaan ikan di dalam perairan dengan menggunakan sensor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Rafly menjelaskan bahwa SMAF-DT ini memanfaatkan gelombang bunyi dan sensor ultrasonik untuk mendeteksi pergerakan ikan di laut. Kemudian dilengkapi dengan lampu <em>alarm<\/em> di atas perahu sebagai indikator. Ketika perahu mulai berjalan menuju laut, sensor mulai mendeteksi adanya pergerakan ikan yang ada di dalam air. \u201cSaat sensor tersebut mengenai ikan maka lampu indikator akan menyala,\u201d terang Rafly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">SMAF-DT juga dilengkapi dengan teknologi pelacakan posisi melalui GPS sehingga dapat memantau pergerakan kapal dan merekam posisi riwayat penangkapan sebelumnya. Fitur ini berguna untuk menambah pengetahuan para nelayan mengenai jenis-jenis ikan beserta kandungannya. \u201cJadi aplikasi ini juga bisa digunakan meskipun nelayan tidak melaut,\u201d tambah Rafly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Kelebihan alat ini, ungkap Rafly, yakni bisa membantu nelayan untuk membuat tangkapan banyak, sehingga meningkatkan perekonomian keluarga. Kemudian, juga dapat sebagai alat keselamatan karena dapat memantau pergerakan perahu. Dengan teknologi yang sederhana, mereka berharap alat ini terjangkau dan ekonomis bagi para nelayan di daerahnya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Berkat inovasi yang dinilai sangat bermanfaat bagi nelayan di pesisir Selat Madura, SMAF-DT ini telah mendapat pengakuan sebagai jawara di kompetisi <em>Bara Muda Essay Competition<\/em> yang diselenggarakan oleh Universitas Trunojoyo Madura, belum lama ini.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Harapan ke depannya, kata Rafly, proyek ini bisa segera direalisasikan dan bisa diproduksi masal sehingga bisa digunakan oleh semua nelayan di Indonesia. \u201cJadi bukan hanya nelayan Kabupaten Bangkalan yang ada di pesisir Selat Madura, tapi semua nelayan yang ada di Indonesia,\u201d tutur Rafly penuh harap. <strong>(naj\/HUMAS ITS)<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kampus ITS, ITS News &#8211; Hasil tangkapan ikan para nelayan di Selat Madura yang relatif sedikit membuat dua mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Instrumentasi, Fakultas Vokasi Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) menggagas sebuah inovasi baru.
