Kali ini, giliran lima mahasiswa ITS yang berhasil meraih Gold Medal dan Best Impact Award di Indonesia Inventors Day (IID) 2020 dalam kategori International World Invention and Technology Expo (WINTEX) yang dilaksanakan selama tiga hari secara daring, pekan lalu.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Mereka adalah Wildan Muhammad Mursyid (Teknik Material 2017), Ghifari Hanif Mustofa (Teknik Mesin 2017), Ahmad Fahmi Prakoso (Teknik Material 2018), Edo Danilyan (Biologi 2018), dan Aldiansyah Wahfiudin (Teknik Material 2018). Bekerja sama dalam satu tim, kelimanya berhasil menyabet dua penghargaan sekaligus yaitu Gold Medal dan Best Impact Award di ajang berskala internasional tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Wildan Muhammad Mursyid, ketua tim tersebut menyebutkan, karya inovasi yang disuguhkan timnya bernama Humanless Underwater Sensors Technology (HUST) 2.0. Alat ini merupakan inovasi teknologi sensor bawah laut yang diaplikasikan pada perairan perbatasan Indonesia. Fungsi tambahan tersebut adalah HUST 2.0 yang dapat digunakan sebagai pembangkit listrik. Hal ini menyebabkan HUST 2.0 tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pendeteksi kapal illegal fishing dan sistem deteksi gempa saja seperti versi pertamanya. Pada versi terbarunya ini, HUST 2.0 memanfaatkan arus laut sebagai energi alternatif untuk menghasilkan energi listrik.<\/p>\n<p>Bermula dari permasalahan masyarakat pesisir pantai yang masih mengeluh dengan ketersediaan listrik di lingkungannya, membuat mereka mencampur permasalahan yang telah ada sebelumnya dengan permasalahan baru di satu alat yang sama. \u201cDengan adanya fitur tambahan di HUST 2.0 ini membuat kebutuhan listrik pada masyarakat di daerah pesisir dapat terpenuhi,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Mahasiswa asal Klaten ini mengungkapkan, tidak semulus yang terlihat, dalam pengembangan HUST 2.0 juga mengalami beberapa kendala. Misalnya, seperti sistem jalur distribusi listrik menuju daerah pesisir yang harus berada di bawah laut dan memiliki jarak yang jauh, sehingga memungkinan terjadinya hilang energi. \u201cHal ini membuat kami masih perlu meneliti dan mengembangkan alat ini, sehingga konsep pembangkit listrik tenaga arus laut (HUST 2.0) dapat diaplikasikan secara optimal,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n<p>Merasa percaya diri, untuk kedua kalinya Wildan bersama timnya memutuskan untuk melombakan karyanya ulang. Kesamaan tersebut tampak dari sensor gempa untuk mendeteksi getaran dasar laut, sensor logam untuk mendeteksi kapal yang mendekat, dan sensor ID untuk mendeteksi Transmitter ID untuk mencegah illegal fishing.<\/p>\n<p>Sedangkan untuk pembangkit listrik, HUST 2.0 menggunakan konsep Gorlov Helical Turbine yang memanfaatkan arus laut untuk memutar kisi-kisi turbin. &#8220;Energi listrik yang dihasilkan digunakan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi HUST 2.0 serta kebutuhan listrik di daerah pesisir,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n<p>Alumnus SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo ini berharap HUST 2.0 dapat direalisasikan, sehingga bisa membantu masyarakat Indonesia terutama di daerah pesisir pantai. Ia juga ingin melombakan karya inovasinya lagi di lomba-lomba lainnya untuk semakin memantapkan kebermanfaatan dari HUST 2.0. \u201cKami akan terus melakukan penelitian dan pengembangan untuk alat ini,\u201d tandasnya.
