ITS Campus, ITS News –\u00a0<\/strong>In building infrastructure, an effective strategy is needed to support the productivity and timing of development projects. Based on this, a student team of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) offered an effective infrastructure development strategy using an aluminum formwork system.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They are Amaluddin Fajar, Risnandha Hermawati, and Friska Ervanda. These three students of the ITS Civil Infrastructure Engineering Department formed the Frict Team that offers an infrastructure development strategy for the construction of a building. This strategy uses aluminum formwork because it can speed up the work process and reduce costs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Amaluddin Fajar explained that the aluminum formwork itself is in the form of a puzzle module and is an all-in-one system. The term all-in-one system means that the formwork is directly installed into a single unit in structural items ranging from beams, plates, columns, and shear walls. “This results in no progress of the project being left behind, so there is no time and costs wasted, which increases the project overhead costs,” identified this student who is familiarly called Fajar.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is said that this type of formwork is more effective for the construction of tall buildings with typical floors, where each floor does not have a significant difference in structure. So that when the formwork of a casting can be dismantled, the formwork can be reused for casting floors above it. “This strategy is suitable to be applied for apartment constructions,” mentioned this student of batch 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

The countermeasures led to very good effects due to its good quality. Starting from consistent inter-panel connections, neat column heads, and smooth results so as to speed up the finishing process. “The results of the formwork are confirmed because we contain panels that cannot be installed incorrectly in the field,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

This type of formwork is also recyclable and can be used from 150 to 200 times. This causes the formwork to be environmentally friendly because it does not leave as much waste as conventional wood. “We also maximized this strategy using technology such as Microsoft Project and Building Information Modeling (BIM),” revealed this young man who was born in 1999.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Microsoft Project itself is used to foster development project scheduling. Meanwhile, BIM serves to display the simulation of structural design results, assist in project analysis, and documentation. “This is done so that the project can be more efficient, accurate, and competitive,” he commented.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through this strategy, Fajar and his team won second place at the 5th Construction Management Competition held by the State University of Malang during the 2020 Civil Days event. He hopes to implement these innovations in building construction projects when he enters the \u201creal\u201d world later. “So that we can reduce more costs and have an efficient processing time, and of course, more environmentally friendly,” concluded this student from Kediri.
