Digelar dua hari hingga Rabu (28\/10), seminar ini menyoroti kualitas air laut serta dampak tsunami terhadap pantai.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pembicara seminar, Prof DrEng Hitoshi Tanaka mengungkapkan jika tsunami dapat menyebabkan perubahan yang sulit diperbaiki pada morfologi pantai. Hal tersebut lantaran setelah terjadi tsunami, pantai akan mengalami fenomena erosi di atas kondisi normal. \u201cDi mana meskipun telah diperbaiki, dampak perubahan morfologi ini akan tetap terlihat,\u201d ujar Hitoshi, sapaannya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menurut profesor Tohoku University Jepang ini, tegangan geser dasar yang diakibatkan oleh tsunami dapat dievaluasi menggunakan koefisien gesekan berupa <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manning\u2019s n<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> dan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Darcy-welbach\u2019s f<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Lebih dalam lagi, ia menyatakan bahwa terdapat masalah lain berupa belum ditemukannya solusi hukum friksi yang tepat digunakan dalam simulasi tsunami di perairan yang berbeda jenis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Direktur Senior International Activities Center (IAC) ini melanjutkan, wilayah perairan dangkal dapat ditangani dengan menggunakan faktor friksi<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Manning<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Akan tetapi, ketika menyimulasikan tsunami di perairan dalam, akan memerlukan penggunaan model <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">k-omega<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. \u201cIni untuk menghitung kecepatan dan tegangan geser dasar laut yang dihasilkan dari kejadian tsunami,\u201d tutur Hitoshi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oleh karenanya, Hitoshi menyimpulkan bahwa dalam simulasi di tiga area berbeda, akan memerlukan penggunaan hukum friksi yang berbeda pula. \u201cDi mana pada area dangkal dapat menggunakan hukum friksi stabil, sedangkan area transisi hingga dalam memerlukan hukum gesekan gelombang,\u201d ujarnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52848\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52848\" style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-52848 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/messageImage_1603982241808.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/messageImage_1603982241808.jpg 1920w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/messageImage_1603982241808-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/messageImage_1603982241808-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/messageImage_1603982241808-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/10\/messageImage_1603982241808-355x200.jpg 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1920px) 100vw, 1920px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52848\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Assoc Prof Dr Eng Ahmad Sana saat memaparkan materinya pada ISOCEEN 2020<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dalam kesempatan berbeda, pembicara lain, Assoc Prof Dr Eng Ahmad Sana mengulik seputar konservasi perairan laut dalam. Ahmad, sapaannya, menyampaikan bahwa perairan laut di negara Oman memiliki 12 titik fasilitas pemantau kualitas air laut tersendiri. Ia mengungkapkan bahwa parameter yang perlu diukur oleh fasilitas tersebut ialah temperatur, salinitas, oksigen terlarut, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), hingga kadar logam beratnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menurut asisten profesor Sultan Qaboos University Oman ini, parameter tersebut penting untuk diperhatikan. Hal ini lantaran, perubahan parameter yang tidak sesuai dengan batas normalnya akan berdampak negatif. \u201cSalah satunya ialah, oksigen terlarut dalam kadar kurang dari dua miligram per liter dapat mengancam organisme laut,\u201d jelasnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ahmad melanjutkan, guna mengontrol kondisi perairan laut, ia bersama rekan penelitinya cenderung menggunakan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">small research vessel<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> yang tersebar beberapa meter di setiap sisi pantai terkait. Setelah alat tersebut didiamkan selama dua hingga tiga bulan, peneliti dapat mengambil sampel lingkungan. \u201cSampel ini yang kemudian dapat kami analisis di laboratorium,\u201d imbuhnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pengajar ini menambahkan bahwa seluruh penelitian kualitas air yang ia dan timnya lakukan dibiayai penuh oleh pemerintah negaranya. Hal ini lantaran, pemerintah Oman memiliki ketertarikan untuk menjadikan wilayah perairan sehat dan layak huni bagi organisme lautan. Tidak sia-sia, hasil dari ketekunan tim peneliti membuahkan hasil berupa perairan Oman yang lebih terpantau sehat. \u201cContohnya, konsentrasi logam berat di perairan kami jauh dari angka standar global,\u201d pungkasnya bangga.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selain dua pemateri tersebut, seminar milik Departemen Teknik Kelautan (DTK) Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) ini juga mengangkat beberapa topik bahasan lain. Di antaranya ialah seputar iklim atmosfer dan ketahanan nasional dengan pendekatan transdisiplin. Kedua materi tersebut dibawakan oleh peneliti dari Institute of Water Education (UNESCO-IHE) Delft Belanda, Assoc Prof Alvaro Semedo PhD serta dosen Qatar University, Prof Ts Dr M Faris Khamidi.
