Kampus ITS, ITS News – <\/strong>The lack of awareness of vehicle care among Indonesians made four students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering<\/a> of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) innovate a new breakthrough. Through an application called BengaOne, the four ITS students present online car repair shop services or and online auto-workshop.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

They are Muhammad Irfan Wibisono, Naufal Nabil Pramono, Muhammad Naufal Aditya Putra, and Kavin Biridho Al Haq, creators of the Online Application Auto-Workshop or BengaOne. Through this innovation, the four students try to increase public awareness of the importance of vehicle care to improve traffic safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team was formed when the four participated in an internship 1.5 years ago at PT EDI Indonesia, which is a pioneer company in developing Electronic Data Exchange (PDE) services in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Naufal Nabil Pramono, who is familiarly called Mono, revealed that BengaOne was motivated by the high number of traffic accidents. In Indonesia alone, he continued, almost 70 percent of traffic accidents occur due to human error. “Namely, due to the lack of regular vehicle maintenance,” emphasized this student from Jakarta.<\/span><\/p>\n

BengaOne features the diagnosis for a vehicle. This feature helps a mechanic to see the condition of the vehicle. So, whether it’s damaged or is in good condition, can be detected easily. “Therefore, we are deliberately targeting four-wheeled vehicles that use board diagnostics or OBD2,” added Mono.<\/span><\/p>\n

Furthermore, Mono explained that the vehicle diagnosis feature was developed in 3D visuals. This feature will collaborate with the OBD2 tool that has been installed into the socket located at the bottom of the steering wheel. Assisted by a Bluetooth connection, OBD2 will distribute information in the form of the results of the user’s vehicle conditions such as the damaged parts of the car that will be displayed through the BengaOne application. “In addition to the Vehicle Diagnosis feature, we also have Nearby Workshop, Call Service, Crane Service, and Engine Maintenance, which are premium features,” he identified.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mono admitted that product development was a major obstacle in developing the BengaOne application. So far, BengaOne application is still in prototype form will go through a research phase so that it can be tested. “The connection between OBD2 and the ability to produce vehicle condition data is quite complicated to do and requires substantial funds,” revealed this student of batch 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

Going forward, this team will conduct an evaluation of the product until it is ready to be launched. Through a list of competitions to be followed, they also hope to find investors who are willing to help develop this application. “We hope to be able to get investors and launch the application (BengaOne<\/a>, red) to the community,” he stated, hopefully.
