Suasana produksi hand sanitizer<\/em> di Laboratorium Kimia Mikroorganisme, Departemen Kimia ITS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Kampus ITS, ITS News \u2014 <\/strong>Langkah preventif terhadap persebaran virus Corona makin santer dilakukan, salah satunya oleh Institut teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) dengan memproduksi hand sanitizer<\/em>. <\/span>Produksi hand sanitizer<\/em> yang merupakan kerja sama antara Departemen Kimia, Eco Campus ITS, dan Departemen Teknik Lingkungan ITS ini, akan dibagikan secara gratis kepada wisudawan dan tamu pada wisuda 121 ITS yang akan dilaksanakan selama dua hari sejak Sabtu (14\/2).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Susi Agustina Wilujeng ST MT, Kepala Unit ITS Smart Eco Campus, menyampaikan bahwa latar belakang dari produksi hand sanitizer<\/em> ini adalah karena semakin mewabahnya virus Corona di seluruh dunia. \u201cDengan memproduksi hand sanitizer<\/em> ini, ITS melalui Smart Eco Campus ingin membudidayakan mahasiswa untuk hidup sehat dengan membiasakan diri menjaga kebersihan,\u201d terangnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

Selain itu, lanjut Susi, acara wisuda merupakan suatu peristiwa yang sakral, di mana banyak tamu undangan dan mahasiswa yang menjalin interaksi. \u201cDengan memberikan hadiah hand sanitizer ini, kami berharap mahasiswa dan para tamu undangan dapat memanfaatkannya sebagai media preventif dari kemungkinan persebaran Virus Corona ,\u201d papar Susi bersemangat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Herdayanto Sulistyo Putro S Si M Si, menyampaikan bahwa dalam waktu dekat, ia bersama 12 mahasiswanya akan memproduksi sekitar 1300 botol hand snitizer<\/em>.\u00a0 Bahan yang dipilih untuk memproduksi hand sanitizer<\/em> diantaranya ada etanol 80%, hidrogen peroksida 3%, gliserol, aquadest, daun mint, dan minyak esensial. \u201cBahan dan formula yang kami pilih ini sesuai dengan resep dari Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) sehingga kualitasnya terjamin,\u201d tutur Dosen Departemen Kimia ini.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pria yang akrab disapa Danang ini juga menjelaskan fungsi dari masing-masing bahan. Gliserol sebagai pelembab kulit, hidrogen peroksida sebagai oksidator yang menonaktifkan kontaminasi virus dan bakteri, minyak esensial\u00a0 untuk memberikan sensasi dingin, dan etanol 80% sebagai desinfektan dan agen mikroba. \u201cKami juga menambahkan daun mint yang diproduksi langsung oleh Urban Farming<\/em> Smart Eco Campus<\/em> ITS untuk memberikan aroma khas dan efek menenangkan pada tubuh\u201d, ungkapnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ketika ditanya mengenai fokusan produksi, Danang menjelaskan bahwa untuk jangka pendek, produksi hand sanitizer<\/em> difokuskan untuk acara-acara besar ITS, salah satunya wisuda 121 dan untuk kebutuhan internal. Namun, lanjut Danang, tidak menutup kemungkinan bahwa kedepannya, hand sanitizer<\/em> ini akan diproduksi untuk masyarakat sekitar ITS juga. \u201cMengingat ketersediaan hand sanitizer<\/em> yang mulai langka dan mahal akibat dampak persebaran virus Corona, jika kita bisa memproduksi sendiri, kenapa tidak?,\u201d tegasnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr Eng Ir Ahmad Rusdiansyah, M Eng, Wakil Rektor III bidang Bidang Sumber Daya Manusia, Organisasi, dan Teknologi Sistem Informasi menyampaikan bahwa produksi hand sanitizer<\/em> ini merupakan jawaban ITS bahwa ITS tanggap terhadap upaya preventif persebaran virus Corona. \u201cMelalui Laboratorium Kimia Mikroorganisme dan Laboratorium Kimia Bahan Alam dan Sintesis, kita bisa memberikan solusi terhadap masalah yang terjadi di masyarakat,\u201d terangnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Terakhir Ahmad Rusdiansyah berharap agar hand sanitizer<\/em> produksi ITS dapat terus diproduksi dan dapat menjadi produk yang mampu mendukung upaya preventif terhadap persebaran Virus Corona. \u201cSemoga manfaat daeri produk ini bisa dirasakan oleh penggunanya, yang dalam jangka pendek ini adalah wisudawan dan tamu wisuda 121 ITS,\u201d pungkasnya mengulum senyum.
