Penelitian oleh guru besar dari Departemen Fisika, Prof Dr rer nat Agus Rubiyanto MEngSc, tersebut telah lolos sebagai penelitian program magister Kementerian Riset dan Teknologi (Kemenristek).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Profesor yang akrab disapa Ruby ini menjelaskan, latar belakang dari penelitiannya tersebut karena aliran darah adalah salah satu faktor penting dalam memonitoring kesehatan. Banyak jenis penyakit yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi aliran darah seseorang. \u201cKarenanya perlu adanya pengembangan alat kesehatan untuk mendukung pengukuran aliran darah tersebut,\u201d terangnya.<\/p>\n<p>Ruby mengaku, dalam penelitiannya bermaksud mengembangkan sensor self-mixing interferometer sebagai sensor pengukur aliran darah yang dapat diterapkan di dunia kesehatan. Sensor self-mixing interferometer merupakan suatu sensor optik yang telah banyak dikembangkan oleh ilmuan dalam bebrapa teknologi industri, penelitian, dan lainnya. &#8220;Saya melihat, bahwa sensor self-mixing interferometer ini juga berpotensi untuk dikembangkan dalam teknologi kesehatan,&#8221; tutur Kepala Pusat Penelitian Sains Fundamental ITS ini.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, lanjut Ruby, self-mixing interferometer sendiri merupakan suatu sensor optik di mana cahaya di dalam sensor tersebut dapat berinterpresensi dengan sesamanya. Berbeda dengan interferometer konvensional, sinyal self-mixing interferometer dapat dipantulkan sendiri di dalam rongga laser. \u201cKekuatan gelombang termodulasi dari self-mixing interferometer ini dapat digunakan untuk memperkirakan kecepatan target, yang dalam penelitian ini yakni aliran darah,\u201d ungkapnya.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_48094\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-48094\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-48094 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-02-27-at-11.46.22.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-02-27-at-11.46.22.jpeg 1280w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-02-27-at-11.46.22-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-02-27-at-11.46.22-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-02-27-at-11.46.22-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2020\/02\/WhatsApp-Image-2020-02-27-at-11.46.22-355x266.jpeg 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-48094\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sinyal detak jantung buatan yang terdeteksi oleh sensor optik self-mixing interferometer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Menurut alumnus Optoelekronika dan Aplikasi Laser, Universitas Indonesia ini, tantangan yang dihadapinya dalam mengembangkan penelitian tersebut adalah bahan yang dibutuhkan untuk menyelesaikan sensor optik masih tidak banyak ditemui di Indonesia, seperti sensor self-mixing interferometer sendiri bisa ditemui di Eropa. \u201cSelain itu, kita juga perlu melakukan pemrograman arduino untuk menghubungkan sensor dengan konsep medis mengenai pengukuran aliran darah,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n<p>Alumnus Universitas Paderborn, Jerman ini juga menerangkan, untuk menyelesaikan penelitiannya tersebut dibutuhkan waktu dan usaha yang maksimal. Selama dua tahun penelitian ini, Ruby dan beberapa mahasiswa magisternya terus mengembangkan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal nantinya. \u201cPenelitian ini memang tidak mudah, selain komponennya yang detail juga dibutuhkan sinkronisasi dengan aliran darah dan anatomi tubuh manusia,\u201d paparnya.<\/p>\n<p>Dosen asli Surabaya ini menyebutkan, alat pengukur darah yang menggunakan sensor optik ini akan memiliki kelebihan dibandingkan dengan alat pengukur darah konvensional. Sensor optik ini dapat mengukur aliran darah pasien tanpa menyentuh pasien, sehingga dalam aplikasinya akan membuat pasien lebih nyaman. \u201cSelain itu, karena menggunakan sensor self-mixing interferometer dengan bentuk gelombang termodulasi, hasil pengukuran juga akan lebih akurat,\u201d ujar mantan dekan Fakultas Sains ITS ini.<\/p>\n<p>Terakhir, Ruby berharap ke depannya alat pengukur darah berbasis self-mixing interferometer ini dapat mendukung perkembangan teknologi di bidang medis. Selain itu, ia juga menyampaikan bahwa untuk menjadi ilmuwan dibutuhkan kesabaran, ketekunan dan pantang menyerah. \u201cKita juga belajar, bahwa ilmu Tuhan itu sangat luas dan hebat, karenanya kita sebagai makhluk Tuhan harus belajar lebih banyak untuk bisa mendapatkan hasil yang maksimal,\u201d pungkasnya mengingatkan.
