Mendukung kebijakan tersebut, Ali Mundakir, Direktur Utama PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy menegaskan eksplorasi geotermal sebagai salah satu EBT harus ditingkatkan.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ali sapaan akrabnya, mengungkapkan bahwa hingga kini konsumsi energi listrik Indonesia masih bergantung pada energi fosil. Hal tersebut lantaran bahan bakar fosil lebih mudah ditemukan dan teknologi pengolahannya pun sudah menjamur dimana-mana, sehingga untuk menggunakan energi ini masyarakat tak perlu merogoh kocek dalam-dalam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Namun, di balik keuntungan tersebut tersimpan bahaya yang tidak main-main. Lebih lanjut, Ali menerangkan gas rumah kaca yang dihasilkan dari pengolahan energi fosil dapat mengakibatkan peningkatan suhu permukaan bumi. Jika hal tersebut terus berlanjut, tentunya akan menyebabkan perubahan iklim serta permasalahan lingkungan lainnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cUntuk itu, pemerintah Indonesia mulai menggencarkan penggunaan geotermal sebagai alternatif guna mengurangi penggunaan bahan bakar fosil,\u201d imbuh Ali.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ali juga mengungkapkan, Indonesia merupakan negara dengan cadangan sumber daya geotermal terbanyak di dunia. Sekitar 28000 megawatt energi geotermal tersimpan dalam perut bumi nusantara. Alih-alih menjadi peluang yang dapat dimanfaatkan, energi sebesar itu belum dimanfaatkan dengan maksimal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menurut peraih gelar master di University of Auckland, New Zealand ini, keberadaan energi geotermal tersebut seharusnya dapat menutupi kekurangan limit per kapita penggunaan listrik di Indonesia, mengingat saat ini konsumsi energi listrik<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Indonesia menempati peringkat yang tidak baik. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dari sedikitnya nilai limit penggunaan per kapita energi listriknya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDengan total 6500 megawatt energi yang dimiliki, setiap penduduk indonesia hanya dapat menikmati kurang dari seribu kWh per kapita,\u201d papar pria kelahiran 20 September 1969 ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Oleh karena itu, menurutnya penggunaan geotermal sebagai pengganti fosil merupakan keputusan yang bijak. Terlebih lagi, dalam satu dekade terakhir, konsumsi energi listrik Indonesia mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Berbicara mengenai energi geotermal, EBT ini setidaknya memiliki tiga keunggulan. Di antaranya geotermal merupakan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">local wisdom energy<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Karena sebagian besar energi panas bumi dihasilkan oleh gunung berapi, maka keberadaan gunung sangat menentukan jumlah cadangan energi geotermal yang terdapat di suatu wilayah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dalam hal ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Indonesia memiliki cadangan energi geotermal yang sangat besar. karena 30 persen dari gunung berapi yang ada di dunia terletak di Indonesia. \u201cOleh karena itu, bisa juga dikatakan bahwa energi geotermal merupakan kearifan lokal Indonesia,\u201d terang Ali.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sebagai salah satu sumber energi, geotermal memiliki performa paling stabil. Energi terbarukan yang satu ini, dinilai mempunyai <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">high availability <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(ketersediaan yang tinggi), sehingga dapat digunakan untuk memenuhi <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">base load <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(beban dasar)<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">yaitu jumlah beban minimum yang harus dipasok oleh sistem kelistrikan secara terus-menerus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Energi geotermal juga merupakan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">proven technology <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(teknologi yang sudah terbukti aman)<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">dan <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ramah lingkungan<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Oleh karena itu, ketika sumber energi fosil dapat dikurangi penggunaannya atau bahkan dapat dialihkan menjadi sumber energi geotermal, kelestarian lingkungan akan lebih terjaga.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Di akhir, Ali menutup sesi dengan pernyataan bahwa keberadaan geotermal akan selalu ada meskipun tidak dimanfaatkan.
