Sebagai penghasil senyawa organik untuk <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">petroleum system<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, batuan ini menjadi pokok bahasan Julian Saputro dalam Short Course<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">yang diselenggarakan oleh <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The American Association of Petroleum Geologist <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (AAPG ITS), Sabtu (28\/9).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ahli geologi eksplorasi PT Pertamina Exploration and Production (EP) ini menjelaskan, tidak seperti batuan pada umumnya,\u00a0 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">source rock<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> tidak berasal dari badan hewan purba yang tertimbun selama jutaan tahun, melainkan dari tumbuhan besar sejenis paku &#8211; pakuan pada zaman sebelum Jurassic (antara 201,3 hingga 145 juta tahun yang lalu).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cHal tersebut cukup penting untuk diketahui, karena masih banyak orang yang tidak mengetahui fakta ini,\u201d ungkap Vice President of Society American Association Petroleum Geologist periode 2009-2010 ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dalam kuliah tamu dengan tema <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fundamental and Applications of Petroleum System Analysis <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ini<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Julian menjelaskan bahwa <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">source rock <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">dibagi menjadi beberapa tipe, di antaranya <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">active sources rock, spent source rock,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> dan<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> potential rock.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pria yang memperoleh gelar sarjananya di ITS menjelaskan, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">active source rock<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> adalah sejenis <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">batuan sumber<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0yang menghasilkan dan mengeluarkan hidrokarbon dengan jumlah yang cukup banyak untuk memenuhi akumulasi minyak dan gas secara komersial. Kemudian, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">spent course rock\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sendiri adalah b<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">atuan sumber yang sudah lama terbentuk dari zat organik secara termal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cSama seperti <em>active source rock<\/em>,<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> potential course<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0adalah\u00a0batuan sumber<em>\u00a0<\/em>dengan jumlah yang cukup banyak. Namun pembentukan hidrokarbon dari batuan sumber jenis ini masih sedikit atau dapat dibilang tingkat kematangan dari batuan sumber ini kurang memadai,\u201d imbuh Alumni Departemen Teknik Geofisika ITS ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selain itu, Ia juga menyampaikan bahwa hingga kini jumlah zat organik yang terdapat di alam sangatlah kurang. Zat organik yang terdapat pada batuan sedimen seperti gambut atau batu bara berjumlah sekitar 0.1 hingga 5 persen, pada sedimen laut terdapat 0.2 persen, pada cekungan sedimen ada sekitar 2 persen, dan 1 hingga 5 persen berada di <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">shelf <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sedimen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8220;Meski terbilang sangat sedikit, jumlah tersebut sudah mencukupi kebutuhan akan zat organik hingga kini,&#8221; pungkasnya.
