Berpikir untuk memberi solusi, mahasiswa Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) yang tergabung dalam tim Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM) merancang inovasi Automatic River Solid Waste Scrapper (ARISTER) berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) yang diyakini bisa membantu mengatasi penumpukan sampah di sungai dengan lebih mudah.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tim mahasiswa yang terdiri dari Agung Trio Prapanca, Narumi Dwi Ramadhanti, M Farhan Rais, dan Adlian Falah di bawah bimbingan dosen Ari Kurniawan Saputra ST MT dan Ir Josaphat Pramudjianto MEng. Keempat mahasiswa dari Departemen Teknik Mesin ITS ini mendapat inspirasi dari banyaknya kasus pencemaran sungai oleh limbah padat di seluruh Indonesia. \u201cKalau pencemaran tersebut dibiarkan terus, dapat berdampak buruk bagi lingkungan dan penduduk sekitar,\u201d ujar Narumi, salah satu anggota tim.<\/p>\n<p>Narumi membeberkan sebesar 54 persen dari 82 sungai besar di seluruh Indonesia terindikasi tercemar berat. Disinyalir limbah padat yang mencemari sungai tersebut berasal dari rumah tangga maupun limbah industri. Sehingga, akibatnya daya dukung sungai untuk menampung air hujan dan mengalirkannya ke laut mengalami penurunan. \u201cHal ini yang menjadi salah satu penyebab utama terjaidnya banjir,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n<p>Ingin membantu mengurangi masalah, tim PKM ini enggan menggunakan cara konvensional yang dirasa masih belum efektif. Sehingga, Narumi dan tim pun menginovasikan teknologi pembersih sungai yang telah diterapkan di Pelabuhan Baltimore, Amerika Serikat. Dengan mengevaluasi kekurangan Mr Trash Wheel (alat yang digunakan di Baltimore tadi, red) dan menyesuaikan kondisi sungai Indonesia, lahirlah produk ARISTER ini. \u201cJadi ARISTER kami ialah pengambil sampah otomatis yang sudah terintegrasi IoT,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-39865\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-07-10-at-17.12.24.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-07-10-at-17.12.24.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-07-10-at-17.12.24-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2019\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-07-10-at-17.12.24-240x320.jpeg 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Seperangkat ARISTER, inovasi alat pengambil sampah di sungai oleh mahasiswa Teknik Mesin ITS<\/p>\n<p>Alat ini dipasang di sekitar tepian sungai. Ketika sensor ultrasonik mendeteksi keberadaan sampah, sinyal listrik akan terkirim ke arduino (senarai perangkat pengendali untuk memudahkan penggunaan elektronik, red). Setelah itu, arduino akan menggerakkan aktuator yang berupa motor DC sebagai penggerak alat pengambil sampah, hingga sampah yang telah diambil diletakkan ke dalam reservoir (wadah).<\/p>\n<p>Nantinya, volume sampah pada reservoir dikontrol menggunakan sensor ultrasonik yang dipasang di beberapa titik pada bak reservoir. Kemudian dipantau secara real time monitoring menggunakan aplikasi, dan pada akhirnya dapat dikirimkan notifikasi kepada operator melalui surat elektronik (surel). \u201cSetelah itu operator dapat mengambil sampah di reservoir jika tiba saatnya,\u201d imbuh Narumi.<\/p>\n<p>Dengan adanya ARISTER, Narumi dan tim berharap agar alat ini mampu diaplikasikan di sungai-sungai di Indonesia, khususnya sungai di Surabaya. Selain itu, Narumi berharap akan terjadi pengurangan penumpukkan sampah di bagian hilir sungai nantinya. \u201cSehingga salah satu penyebab utama banjir pun diharapkan dapat teratasi,\u201d pungkasnya optimis.
