Kampus ITS, ITS News<\/strong> – Industri startup berbasis Teknologi Informasi (TI) milik anak bangsa mulai menunjukan taringnya. Tidak selalu mulus, tantangan kerap dihadapi berbagai startup terutama dalam pemanfaatan teknologi informasi di Indonesia. Senior Product Manager Tokopedia, Hatta Himawan membagikan hal tersebut dalam IT Talks ITS Expo 2019 yang bertajuk Meraih Dukses di Usia Muda dengan Teknologi di Gedung Robotika ITS Minggu, (7\/4).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Cukup lama berkecimpung di dunia e-commerce, membuat Hatta mengerti seluk-beluk pemanfaaatan teknologi di Indonesia. Terutama dalam bidang e-commerce, Hatta mengungkapkan fakta bahwa perkembangannya cukup pesat di Indonesia. \u201cSekitar 50 persen pengguna internet Indonesia sudah memanfaatkan layanan ini,\u201d paparnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

Di sisi lain, Hatta turut menyayangkan beberapa hal. Ia mengungkapkan bahwa jumlah pengguna e-commerce yang besar, terlihat sebagai fatamorgana. Ia memaparkan 90 persen barang yang dijual di e-commerce merupakan barang impor. Apalagi, menurut Hatta, produk tersebut menawarkan harga yang relatif lebih murah dibandingkan produk dalam negeri. “Itulah sebabnya produk tersebut lebih diminati,” paparnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

Selain itu, menurut lulusan Sistem Informasi ITS angkatan 2006 ini, penggunaan teknologi di era baru ini pasti akan menimbulkan perubahan dinamika masyarakat, khususnya dalam bidang ekonomi. Kehadiran berbagai startup, ditambah dengan startup berstatus unicorn jelas akan menambah pendapatan nasional dari sisi Produk Domestik Bruto (PDB). Unicorn sendiri merupakan istilah\u00a0yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan perusahaan privat yang telah mengantongi valuasi lebih dari 1 milyar USD.<\/span><\/p>\n

Namun dari segi pemerataan kesejahteraan, ketimpangan finansial antara pemilik startup dengan masyarakat umum akan semakin terlihat. \u201cMinat baca rendah, serta 20 persen masyarakat yang tidak mengenyam pendidikan tinggi dapat memperparah keadaan,\u201d lanjutnya.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bagi Hatta, perkembangan teknologi terutama dalam era digital adalah perihal siapa yang menguasai dan dikuasai. Ketika seseorang lebih banyak menikmati perkembangan teknologi dari pada membuat nilai yang berarti, maka menurut Hatta, jangan-jangan orang tersebut telah diperbudak oleh teknologi. \u201cJangan hanya menjadikan teknologi sebagai gaya hidup, namun temukan bagaimana cara memberikan nilai lebih lewat teknologi,\u201d pesannya kepada peserta IT Talks ITS Expo 2019.
