Para calon wisudawan 119 yang telah ditempa beberapa tahun di Kampus Pahlawan ini harus siap menghadapi dunia pasca kuliah. Demi mendukung hal tersebut, ITS menyelenggarakan Kuliah Inspirasi <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Followership for Millennials and New Normal Situation, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Kamis (14\/3).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ilmu<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> followership <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">(kepengikutan) merupakan ilmu dasar untuk menjadi seorang pemimpin namun masih jarang diketahui orang lain. Ilmu ini mempelajari tentang bagaimana memahami dan menjadi pengikut yang baik serta pengaruhnya terhadap lingkungan. Ilmu yang diperkenalkan di Amerika sejak 1992 ini berkembang lambat dibandingkan ilmu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">leadership.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Di Indonesia sendiri masih sangat langka ditemui.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Di Eropa dan Amerika, pemberian ilmu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">followership <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ini sudah dianggap normal terjadi. Beberapa pakar ilmu ini yang cukup ternama, seperti Craig Johnson, Gene Dixon, Robert E. Kelley, Ira Chaleff, dan beberapa tokoh lainnya berhasil memperkenalkan ilmu ini selama kurang lebih 27 tahun terakhir. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pada Kuliah Inspirasi yang digelar di Grha ITS, Raden Muhsin Budiono yang menjadi narasumber menyampaikan beberapa poin penting terkait ilmu ini, khususnya bagi generasi milenial. Alumnus ITS yang kini telah sukses memantapkan karirnya di salah satu Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) ternama ini mengemukakan bahwa ilmu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">followership <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tidak dapat dipisahkan dari penerapan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">leadership.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Menurut Muhsin, Jika diamati lebih lanjut, materi yang diajarkan pada <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">followership<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> ini dapat dibilang sangat berkaitan dengan keberlanjutan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">leadership.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Karena dalam kepemimpinan tentu akan melibatkan pemimpin dan yang dipimpin. \u201cKetika yang dipimpin ini belum memahami atau mengenal ilmu menjadi seorang pengikut (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">followers<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) yang baik, maka kepemimpinan tersebut tidak akan mencapai hasil maksimal,\u201d sambung pria kelahiran Cirebon ini.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Muhsin mencontohkan bahwa ketika seorang pengikut tidak memiliki kemampuan komunikasi yang baik kepada pemimpinnya, di saat itulah ilmu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">followership<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> ini diperlukan. Karena pada hakikatnya, seorang <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pengikut diharapkan mampu melayani tujuan bersama dengan memaknai nilai tujuan tersebut. Bukan sekadar menjadi bawahan si pemimpin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Melalui riset yang dilakukan Muhsin, ia menyimpulkan bahwa ilmu ini masih sukar untuk ditemui di Indonesia lantaran dua hal. Ilmu ini dianggap kurang penting dan tidak perlu dipelajari, serta masyarakat beranggapan bahwa ilmu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">followership <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">adalah suatu hal yang sia-sia karena ada anggapan bahwa untuk apa seseorang belajar untuk menjadi pengikut (bawahan).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Penulis lima buku ini menjelaskan anggapan seperti itu merupakan kekeliruan. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Followership<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> saat ini sama seperti ilmu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">parenting<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> 10-15 tahun yang lalu. Dulu orang menganggap ilmu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">parenting<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> itu tidak perlu dipelajari. Sebab untuk menjadi orang tua tidak perlu sertifikat dan tidak perlu belajar. \u201cBuktinya sekarang, ilmu <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">parenting <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sudah menjadi hal yang diperlukan setiap calon orang tua,\u201d tutur Muhsin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Selain itu, menurutnya jarang ada yang mau mendalami <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">followership<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> karena terlanjur menyanjung <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">leadership<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> dan menganggap <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">followership<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> sebagai ilmu kelas dua atau ilmu \u201crendahan\u201d yang hanya cocok dipelajari oleh pekerja level bawah. Padahal,<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> followership <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">butuh dipelajari oleh siapapun termasuk pimpinan. \u201cAgar nantinya, suatu organisasi, perusahaan, atau pun tim lainnya dapat memaksimalkan potensi miliknya,\u201d pungkas Mushin pada wisudawan yang hadir.
