Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) bekerjasama dengan Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan (Litbang) Kementerian Perhubungan mengembangkan prototipe untuk mengukur ketinggian genangan air (standing water) di landasan pacu.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Data Komite Nasional Keselamatan Transportasi (KNKT) Tahun 2016 menunjukkan penyebab paling tinggi kecelakaan pesawat udara disebabkan oleh runway excursion atau landas pacu excursion. Dimana landas pacu excursion adalah peristiwa tergelincirnya pesawat akibat genangan air.<\/p>\n<p>Data yang dihimpun oleh KNKT menyebutkan, dari 212 angka kecelakaan pesawat pada 2010 hingga 2016, terdapat 40,09 persen kecelakaan yang disebabkan oleh genangan air di landasan pacu. Kondisi ini terjadi ketika landasan pacu dalam keadaan basah dan roda pesawat tidak mampu menyibak lapisan air yang berada di bawahnya. Landasan pacu dikategorikan berbahaya untuk keselamatan pesawat udara bila 25 persen dari luas area tergenang air dengan ketinggian maksimum tiga millimeter.<\/p>\n<p>Prototipe yang dihasilkan melalui penelitian berbasis riset ini telah disesuaikan dengan aturan CASR 139 (Civil Aviation Safety Regulation) dan MOS 139 (Manual of Standard) tentang kondisi permukaan landasan. Tim peneliti dari Departemen Fisika ITS melakukan penelitian mengenai prototipe yang diberi nama Standing Water Level dalam Laboratorium Instrumentasi Elektronika.<\/p>\n<p>Pembuatan prototipe ini sudah melalui proses uji laboratorium, pembuatan software untuk menampilkan hasil pengukuran sensor level air, serta uji fungsional yang dilakukan di Bandar Udara Trunojoyo, Madura. \u201cPenelitian ini merupakan salah satu terobosan dalam keselamatan penerbangan di Indonesia,\u201d ujar Dr Dra Melania Suweni Muntini MT, ketua peneliti.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36695\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36695\" style=\"width: 1600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36695\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-12-30-at-22.56.38.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1066\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-12-30-at-22.56.38.jpeg 1600w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-12-30-at-22.56.38-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-12-30-at-22.56.38-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-12-30-at-22.56.38-1024x682.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/12\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-12-30-at-22.56.38-355x237.jpeg 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-36695\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Proses uji coba prototipe Standing Water Level di landasan pacu Bandar Udara Trunojoyo, Sumenep, Madura<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Dijelaskan Melania, sapaannya, alat Standing Water Level ini dipasang di kedua sisi landasan pacu bandar udara dengan menggunakan listrik yang berasal dari tenaga surya. Sensor kemudian akan bekerja mengukur genangan air di landasan yang akan membahayakan pesawat. \u201cSensor tersebut juga akan terhubung ke dengan menara Air Traffic Controller (ATC),\u201d ungkap dosen Departemen Fisika ITS ini.<\/p>\n<p>Jika genangan sudah melebihi tiga milimeter, maka software akan menampilkan tanda bahaya. Petugas yang berada di ATC akan memberitahu pilot pesawat bahwa landasan pacu tergenang air. Melalui pemberitahuan ini, pilot dan pihak bandar udara akan melakukan tindakan preventif untuk mengurangi genangan air.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih lanjut Melania mengatakan, jenis prototipe Standing Water Level tidak akan sama bila digunakan di bandar udara yang berbeda. Hal ini karena kontur landasan pacu di setiap bandar udara berbeda. \u201cJadi, alat akan disesuaikan dengan karakteristik tanah yang ada,\u201d ucap wanita yang juga menjabat kepala Unit Protokoler, Promosi dan Humas (UPPH) ITS ini.<\/p>\n<p>Melania berharap agar alat ini dapat digunakan di seluruh bandar udara di Indonesia. Ini dikarenakan biaya pemasangannya yang relatif ekonomis bila dibandingkan dengan alat dari luar negeri. Meski begitu, prototipe ini masih perlu dilakukan uji coba sehingga layak disertifikasi dan dikomersialisasikan. \u201cKita berharap karya anak bangsa ini dapat digunakan dengan maksimal agar kejadian pesawat tergelincir di masa yang akan datang dapat kita hindari,\u201d pungkasnya.
