Di 15 kampus besar di Indonesia Timur, didapatkan tiga kategori ICT Center. Pertama, kategori tahap pemula yang jumlahnya sekitar 25%, tahap pengguna sebanyak 35%, dan tahap pengembang sebanyak 40%.<\/p>\n

Demikian diungkapkan Rektor ITS, Prof Dr Ir. Mohammad Nuh DEA, selaku Steering Committee Pengembangan ICT Center Indonesia, Senin (7\/3) siang, dalam acara pembahasan bersama hasil pemetaan potensi ICT di perguruan tinggi Indonesia Timur antara tim dari Indonesia dengan Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).<\/p>\n

Dikatakan, Nuh, hasil penilaian tersebut didasarkan atas beberapa indikator diantaranya, kesadaran (awareness) dan investasi di bidang ICT related. "Kesadaran ICT di sini dimaksud seberapa besar kampus-kampus memiliki kesadaran tentang penggunaan ICT sebagai solusi yang pada gilirannya berdampak pada keinginan untuk berinvestasi pada ICT," katanya.<\/p>\n

Secara umum, katanya menambahkan, ICT literacy kampus-kampus di Indonesia Timur belum bagus performa-nya. Selain masih sekedar pemenuhan otomasi administrasi, ICT Center di kampus-kampus Indonesia Timur masih banyak yang belum terjalin dalam satu jaringan.<\/p>\n

"Dari hasil penilaian kami, information flow yang diharapkan lancar setelah ICT Center dibangun di kampus-kampus, ternyata tak berjalan baik. Masih banyak kampus yang belum jelas master plan ICT Center-nya, sehingga pembangunan ICT Center cuma sekedar pemenuhan kebutuhan sesaat, atau yang saya istilahkan 'kegenitan ICT', " katan mantan Direktur Politeknik Elektronika ITS ini.<\/p>\n

Ditambahkannya, masih banyak pula kampus-kampus di Indonesia Timur yang terbiasa hanya memakai satu platform dan tak mengembangkan platform lainnya. Padahal katanya lagi, pengembangan ICT Center membutuhkan sokongan multi platform.<\/p>\n

Nuh menjelaskan, setelah potensi ICT Center dipetakan, Tim Pengembang ICT Center Indonesia akan menyusun kebijakan strategis. "Pembahasan dengan JICA mulai 7 hingga 19 Maret ini merupakan rangkaian di dalam rencana penyusunan kebijakan strategis itu. Mungkin hasilnya baru akan diketahui setelah 19 Maret mendatang," katanya.<\/p>\n

Proyek Pengembangan ICT Center Indonesia ini merupakan hasil kerja sama ITS dan ITB dengan JICA serta Oulu University Finlandia dalam mengembangkan potensi ICT Center di kampus-kampus seluruh Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) ditunjuk untuk menangani survey ICT Center di kampus-kampus Indonesia Barat sedangkan ITS diserahi melakukan survey di kampus-kampus Indonesia Timur. (Humas\/bch)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
