Hal itu dibahas dalam International Seminar on Photonics, Optics and It\u2019s Application (ISPHoA) yang digelar di Hotel Bumi Surabaya, Rabu, (1\/8).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Perhelatan dua tahunan yang sudah kali ketiga ini, menghadirkan narasumber dari berbagai negara. Ketua pelaksana ISPHoA, Dr rer nat Aulia Nasution menjelaskan, cahaya memiliki banyak manfaat bagi kehidupan sehari-hari. Contohnya saja, di dunia medis dewasa ini. Beberapa operasi yang membutuhkan ketelitian tinggi sudah memanfaatkan laser sebagai media pemotong.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKondisi kesehatan juga dapat diketahui dengan memanfaatkan interaksi antara cahaya dan kondisi tubuh itu sendiri,\u201d sambungnya memberi contoh lain saat ditemui dalam acara yang akan berlangsung hingga Kamis (2\/8) ini. Pria yang akrab disapa Aulia ini juga memaparkan, dari interaksi tersebut, akan dihasilkan sebuah data yang nantinya diolah sehingga dapat diketahui kondisi kesehatan manusia.<\/p>\n<p>Tidak hanya itu, lanjut Aulia, dalam bidang komunikasi, cahaya dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai kabel penghubung dengan kecepatan yang lebih baik dibandingkan tembaga yang biasa dipakai. Bahkan Aulia mengklaim, meski manfaatnya sudah banyak dirasakan, tidak banyak masyarakat yang tahu aplikasi dari cahaya ini. \u201cDengan adanya seminar semacam ini, khalayak akan tahu seperti apa manfaat cahaya yang tentu tidak sebatas sebagai sumber penerangan,\u201d tutur dosen berkacamata ini.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_34384\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-34384\" style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-34384\" src=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-08-01-at-16.27.36.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-08-01-at-16.27.36.jpeg 1280w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-08-01-at-16.27.36-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-08-01-at-16.27.36-768x512.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-08-01-at-16.27.36-1024x682.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2018-08-01-at-16.27.36-355x237.jpeg 355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-34384\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Prof Harith bin Ahmad dari Malaysia membahas mengenai nanomaterial untuk serat laser dalam The 3rd ISPHoA.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Profesor ulung dari Malaysia, Prof Dr Harith bin Ahmad yang hadir sebagai pemateri mencoba memberi gambaran tentang beberapa inovasi baru dalam bidang pemanfaatan cahaya. \u201cNanomaterial yaitu penggunaan bahan (materi, red) berukuran sangat kecil masih menjadi fokus penelitian optika yang diminati di abad 21 ini,\u201d ungkapnya.<\/p>\n<p>Ia menjelaskan, beberapa materi yang dapat bekerja dalam skala nano nantinya dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sensor yang cukup efisien. \u201cDengan ukuran sangat kecil, materi semacam ini akan praktis untuk digunakan karena alat yang tercipta tidak membutuhkan ukuran besar,\u201d paparnya kemudian.<\/p>\n<p>Hadir pula sebagai pemateri, Prof Shi-Wei Chu dari National Taiwan University yang memanfaatkan hamburan plasmon non-linier untuk membuat mikroskop dengan resolusi tinggi. \u201cResolusi tinggi akan menghasilkan akurasi pengamatan yang tinggi,\u201d tuturnya. Dengan hasil tersebut, imbuhnya, pengamatan dalam hal pencitraan biomedis atau pemeriksaan organ fungsional dapat dilakukan lebih baik lagi.<\/p>\n<p>Selain kedua pemateri tersebut, Prof Dr Ing Azhar Zam selaku Kepala Biomedical Laser and Optics Group (BLOG) dari Swiss, Prof. Sulaiman W Harun dari Malaysia, Prof Parvez Haris dari Inggris, dan Prof Percival F dari Filipina turut memberi gambaran perihal manfaat cahaya bagi kehidupan manusia ke depan.
