Kampus ITS, ITS News- Prestasi membanggakan hadir dari empat mahasiswa ITS yang berasal dari Departemen Teknik Infrastruktur Sipil dan Transportasi Laut. Dengan memberikan solusi sebuah konsep untuk mengatasi masalah perbedaan harga beras di Indonesia khususnya Papua, tim yang diberi nama 945-WT berhasil berhasil membawa pulang piala juara pertama pada kompetisi ITB Civil Engeneering Expo (ICEE) yang berlangsung selama tiga hari sejak Jumat (26\/1).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Berlatar belakang tingginya perbedaan harga beras di Provinsi Papua yang mencapai hingga 32% dibanding dengan provinsi lainnya, dan diiringi dengan permintaan beras yang meningkat setiap tahun, tim ini menghadirkan sistem baru bernama I-LOG. Sistem yang mampu menyatukan sistem logistik, , transportasi laut dan mengembangkan pelabuhan di Indonesia timur.<\/p>\n

Mujaddid Ma\u2019ruf, ketua tim 945-WT sistem logistik buatannya membuat rute paling efektif yang disesuaikan dengan rute yang digagas oleh tol laut Pelni. Rute pertama dari Tanjung Perak ke Sorong, kemudian dari Tanjung Perak ke Jayapura dan yang terakhir dari Tanjung Perak ke Merauke.<\/p>\n

\u201cPemilihan ketiga pelabuhan berkaca dari sudah didirikannya trans Papua yang menghubungkan ketiganya melalui jalur darat,\u201d tutur mahasiswa Diploma 3 Teknik Infrastruktur Sipil tersebut.<\/p>\n

Selain menemukan rute efektif, Tim bimbingan Achmad Mustakim ST MT dan Hafizh Imaddudin ST MT ini juga melakukan inovasi di bidang transportasi laut. Membangun sebuah kapal \u00a0optimal dengan beban berguna yang dapat diangkut sebesar 500 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent) dan beban kapal sebesar 10.000 DWT (deadweight tonnage). \u201cKami juga memodifikasi dermaga di panjang tambatan dan perluasan depo peti kemas, sehingga dapat ditambati oleh kapal yang direncanakan tadi,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n

Ketika ditanya terkait pemilihan komoditas beras, Mujaddid menjelaskan, meskipun di Papua bahan pangan pokoknya sagu namun banyak penduduk luar Papua yang masih membutuhkan beras sebagai makanan utama. Hal inilah yang mengakibatkan permintaan beras menjadi tinggi dan subsidi beras belum mampu memenuhi seluruh kebutuhan dan hanya mampu memenuhi sebanyak 24% dari total permintaan.<\/p>\n
